Went for dinner on Valentine's Day. It was fairly busy but the staff were polite and apologized for the wait. Again, because of the day, the food took quite awhile to come out. Overall the food was good but the beef and broccoli had hardly any beef, so I think some improvement should be made in that regard. The restaurant appeared clean, and the price was good for what we ordered.

We have been ordering from this restaurant for years and the food has always been great. Tonight our order came, an item was missing , the egg rolls were 1/3 of the thickness as they used to be, the rice had no flavour at all other then slight burnt taste and looked nothing like chicken friend rice at all, the chicken balls were almost all batter, there was no almonds in our almond ding. It was very dissapointing to spend $60 on a meal for my family that ended up going in the garbage.

I have been both a dine in and take out customer and each and every time have no complaints. The combo plates are great for individual lunch/ dinners and are always hot , fresh and you get a good amount of food for $10/under. The staff always warm and welcoming Thanks!

We visited Lechee Garden for the first time last night. We decided to try a change from our go to Chinese restaurant. What a mistake. The decor is as to be expected. Slightly dated, but definitely that of a Chinese restaurant. Upon arriving there was a sign that said please wait to be seated. After standing at the door for 3 minutes while to staff carried on a conversation at the drink service area I wouldn’t quite call it a bar, but I guess you could one of them turned and walked by us and said “oh sit anywhere you’d like.” Once we chose a place to sit we waited only a minute or two for our server to come over and take our drink order. Those were brought promptly, and at the same time our food orders were taken. We had already decided on the dinner for 3, as it would be enough for myself, my fiancé and my 9 year old daughter. It included: -beverages -3 won ton soups -3 egg rolls -fried rice -sweet and sour chicken balls -battered jumbo shrimp 15 -chicken or beef chow mein The soup and egg rolls were delivered promptly. But the broth for the won ton soup had almost no flavor, and no green onions maybe this isn’t a regular thing, but I’m fairly accustomed to having green onions in won ton soup. The egg rolls weren’t too bad, but very oily still. While still eating our soup and egg rolls the rest of the food began arriving, with covers over the dishes. We were sitting at a rectangular table that could set a four, yet the server decided to try and squeeze the first 2 dishes on the edge of the table on the side where two people were sitting, rather than using the empty spot at the table. We rearranged the table ourselves, and again after the second two dishes arrived. Once I finished my soup and egg roll I moved the small plate and bowl to the edge, then my fiancé and daughter handed me theirs to stack up in hopes that the server would notice and remove them. I then started serving up our 4 main dishes. After I had served up the battered shrimp on two plates I realized something was wrong. They had only given us 10! I flagged down the server and brought it to his attention. He said he would tell the kitchen. Then the owner came out and said the cook gave us 12. I told her that was incorrect and proceeded to count them with her. She said “oh ok, I get you 3 more”. I explained to her that no, the menu said 15 and showed it to her. She then led to ho to the kitchen. When she came back a little while later with the rest, she had 5 more then said very loud “OK I MAKE IT BETTER, I GIVE YOU EXTRA!” At that point I was done arguing. Other than the shrimp, we had asked for chicken chow mein, but got beef, and serving size was probably only big enough for two. At that point I had lost my appetite and was very frustrated. We asked for containers to pack the rest of the food up and for the bill. That’s when the server took away our “appetizer” plates. After paying the bill and leaving I realized that was the first time I’ve ever been to a Chinese restaurant and not received a fortune cookie at the end! Needless to say I will never return!

The food here is pretty mediocre. It was way over deep fried making the egg rolls like biting in to dust rolls and the chicken balls are nearly all dough with a hint of what maybe could be chicken. The rice is overly dry. Honestly buffet places do a way better job. I rarely eat "Chinese" food because it's brutally unhealthy so when I do I'd like it to be decent. I will not go back here.

Have ordered from Leechee Garden Restaurant for 37 years because, in my opinion, the taste and qualtity of their food was the best Chinese food in Kingston. My order today was very disappointing. All of the dishes were either cold or just barely warm. There must be a new cook as the food did not taste like it use to. Every dish tasted different and was not as good. It was a very skimpy order of Lemon Chicken. A lot of the pieces in the General Tao Chicken were just deep-fried batter...no chicken at all in it. The Cantonese Chow Mein had way too much celery in it. Where has the water chestnuts and bamboo shoots gone to? The rice was very pale in comparison to what it use to look like.

Absolutely delicious fresh food. Dai dop wooey, lemon chicken, beef and tomatoes, barbq pork and so much more! Our party of 20 had our own room and was well serviced. Very helpful friendly staff and easily accommodated those with food allergies. Can't say enough about how good the food is!

Disappointing # 2 - We ordered delivery one night from Lechee and what a disaster. We were told by the lady who took our order on the phone that it would be a 1 hr wait and I said OK. The delivery came 1.5 hrs later!! When the delivery came, the bag was leaking bad and the chicken balls and battered shrimps were cold! YUK! We don't have a microwave so had to put this in the oven. I asked the driver why the order was so late and he said "Well, I don't usually do deliveries for them, I was asked to help out. I usually do deliveries for Swiss Chalet." Ummm....ok....whatever that means. I called the restaurant back and spoke with the lady and told her our disappointment, we will never order from them again. The owner was not there so we could not speak with him. April 2013

Food was 4 star but ordered on phone and went to pick up, many people waiting past their limit. Many were unhappy with time and some mistakes made. I sat the for 40 more mins making it a 1hour 10 wait without any compensation offered
