Has potential to be good but fell short. I tried their largest Vietnamese submarine in town $9 cold cuts assorted and Vietnamese style ice coffee $4. The banh mi was dry and disappointing. The bread tasted a day too old and in need of a bit of Maggie sauce and more liver patty. The cold cuts and preserve vegetables were good. 2/5 The Vietnamese style ice coffee was good. The coffee and condensed milk along with the ice pass the taste test. 4/5 My friend ordered the banh mi and agreed with me with how we felt. His papaya salad was okay not the worst or best he had elsewhere. The decore looks homie and welcoming. I believe the owner server us and he was friendly and quick. I think if they worked on adding a little more flavor, spices, seasonings and the little details to their food. This could be a great place to go but right now it's passable and okay.
Got the vermicelli noddles with lemongrass chicken. The selection of veggies was odd and they didn’t provide much sauce. The portion size was nice but the veggie to noodle ratio was off. Overall I wouldn’t eat here again. And another thing that was disappointing is the sign in the window that says that the bathrooms are only for customers. This reveals that the business is not community minded.
Very nice setting, friendly staff, I've eaten here before and it's a great place for Vietnamese when in oak bay :
I had a great sit down lunch here today. The restaurant is definitely open for dine in, and their hours are correct as posted on the listing. The food was excellent and the coffee was delicious. I highly recommend eating here especially during the pandemic when businesses need our support. Their Covid-19 precautions would make Dr Bonnie Henry proud. The service was great too!
Nice fresh fairly large Vietnamese menu. My favourites are the Saigon noodles, papaya salad, appetizer sampler and any of the pho bowls. It's one of our regular Friday eats. Yum!Food: 4/5
Lemongrass chicken tastes like overnight left with no salt, noodle soup tastes good but all the noodle are broken into small pieces, not sure if it is overcooked or cooked twice from a overnight left too. Not recommend
Just a blob of noodle. Went 5 mins down the road to get home to needing a fork and knife to cut the noodles from the one big block of noodle. Called and said would talk to the owner, but nothing else since they closed at 8pm. Not satisfied at all.
Yummy tofu bahn mi and salad rolls! My husband enjoyed his #64 chicken, pork and rice. Will order again!
A strong 3 1/2 stars. Brisk, efficient service no frills. My go-to in the neighbourhood because it’s the only Pho in Oak Bay. Had the rare beef #40 and dug in before remembering to take a picture. Prices are fair and noodles are good. Not as authentic as I’ve had elsewhere, but solid fare.
Delicious fried tofu sub, fairly priced. I also had the salad rolls with peanut sauce, fresh and crunchy, perfect!
