Visited this place after reading the good reviews on Google. Small, quant restaurant run by, I presume, a Vietnamese family. Numerous Vietnamese patrons were there eating lunch which gave us hope for a decent Pho and Banh Mi. We were not disappointed at all. Service was very friendly and the food was excellent. We enjoyed the BBQ pork Banh Mi and two bowls of Meatball, Brisket and rare beef Pho. Broth outstanding. Meat tender. Veggies fresh. So good.
Just moved to Victoria and I already found my favourite spot. I came in yesterday afternoon with a bad hangover and boy did it do the trick. I got the 409 pho with brisket and beef balls, as well as some lemongrass beef salad rolls. The salad rolls were delicious as I had anticipated, but wow, the pho was the star of the show. Many places I've been to tend to have over cooked noodles, but these ones were perfect, paired with a rich and flavourful broth. Delicious. Expect to see me often!
This Vietnamese restaurant offers the same basic menu options as most Vietnamese restaurants. We had ordered our usual, which was the Hot and sour Chicken soup noodles. Service was fairly quick at lunch time. Prices was good compared to the quantity. We ordered a large and it was enough for two. It is at a busy spot but parking is not difficult to find.
Probably THE BEST pho and Vietnamese food in town! Amazing quality, price and service! One of my favorite go-to in town : Lots of vegan and vegetarian options make it even better! Vegetarian options: Tofu, curry tofu, puffed tofu, etc. Kid-friendliness: Kids and babies could eat here as theres lots of spacing
Great quality with good generous serving size. The attention they give to their food and customers are superb and they are very kind people. The best Vietnamese food and service in Victoria! Will be coming back again!
Service was nice and funny. We ordered salad/summer rolls, pho, and banh mi and they were all delicious. 4 stars just because I found the salad rolls were not as good as other places I’ve been - it was just lettuce, pork, and vermicelli inside, so it felt just shy of having great flavour. The bathroom is also a bit dirty. Otherwise the experience was very good :
If I can give more than 5 stars, I would for this place as the value for the price and taste is phenomenal! Google review is asking for an updated review go dishing it out. In my original comment I left several years ago before the pandemic, I mentioned mouthwatering banh mi that is fresh, crispy and chewy. This hasn't changed at all. I came back to eat at this place again, this time properly alone without the forgettable ex-boyfriend. It was a very good place to recollect my thoughts and enjoy after a long day's of work. I was elated the owner remembered me because I felt super bad for not frequenting here since the breakup as I don't travel to Quadra Village area for errands. Despite the terrible economy, the price of the food is quite reasonable. Definitely a high recommendation; worth the commute over and check it out. Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly place. You can easily request staff to change programs on television to a show more geared to children. Parking: Street parking is 1 hour free in the area or one can use the parking lot where Fairway Market is at across the street. Wheelchair accessibility: Door is not automated and entranceway might be a little cramped but chairs are easily cleared to allow accessibility for dine in experience.
Reasonable prices, haven't had a chance to try their Pho, but I will definitely be back. This time, I had the best sub I have had on the island so far, it was D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. The restaurant itself is very clean and stylish, and the staff are really nice.
My Banh Mi had no radish, 2 slivers of cucumber, was filled with carrots, and the "BBQ pork" roast pork? which I payed for extra meat, was sub-par. It was very dry and not very much for paying for extra meat. I pulled out some of the pork and it was all dried out, either sitting in a fridge unwrapped, just dried from the air or maybe microwaved too much, but it wasn't hot. Maybe they freeze it and defrost it in the microwave. As I'm writing this review I just crunched on some sand from the cilantro. Honestly the worst Banh Mi I have experienced. Deep-fried spring rolls were not drained properly and were sitting in a pool of fryer oil. I wish they put napkins in the bag to help soak up some of the oil. For some reason on their website they show a totally different style of Banh Mi with red peppers...
We had a delicious lunch today at Alysa's! Restaurant is extremely clean, service was excellent & both our soups were delicious. We will definitely be back again!Food: 5/5
