Huge building but not exactly what I was expecting. There were several exhibitions in different areas, concentrated on very specific things. When I went, it was the indigenous peoples, hip-hop, Trans people, and boxing. Except for items in the first one, mostly it was all digital displays. Still, they were professionally put together, containing interesting information.
Nice! Really enjoyed the holograms and 80's area. The fact that they have an area dedicated to Hip Hop is so amazing! And most importantly, so much to see about the indigenous people of this land! Loved it! The restaurant was nice and clean.
Very interesting and informative museum.nThe first nations exhibit was especially good.nLoved the use of chairs to depict the different ages and happenings in Quebec province throughout the previous 400 years.nStill not sure what fake wrestling and gladiators have to do with civilizations except for the violence each portrays as a microcosm of mankind.nNeed to be better marked as to which direction to go.nThe staff was barely present to ask questions of.nAnd then they had little to offer in way of explanationnnIf you go, what you see and read is really what you getnnThis should be a 5 but there is more to do to get there.
Clean and quiet. My family had a great time strolling and enjoying the exhibits that were open. All their exhibits were interactive and super cool... more modern then historical civilization. Nothing like the Ottawa museum if you compare. Our little ones enjoyed the petite masion in the basement. Since we were the only ones there on a Tuesday morning, it felt like we booked the whole place to ourselves in the basement. We got to take lots of pictures and really enjoyed every part of the museum. We enjoyed the rap hip-hop exhibit, the staff was very nice and gave us an self listening audio. I thought it was cool that as you slowly walk through the exhibit and walk near the walls with the audio sign, the explanation of the art or section begins so it was seamless.nnWe enjoyed it because it was quiet and pretty empty. As we were leaving a group of elementary school students came so it was a great time for us to leave.nnIt took us an hour and half to explore and enjoyed the museum.
What a delight, totally unexpected exhibits artistically done and very engaging for all ages. Kids loved the battle skit with comedic acrobats, and the downstairs area. Super comfortable, highly recommend.
