I LOVE lmcu but if you expect to be in and out of this specific branch then you're wrong. Wait time is ATLEAST 15 minutes. They really should hire more people to help out.

I had a horror experience at Preferred Credit Union. I am without a vehicle and just moved to Kalamazoo. I foolishly forgot to move my money before hand and rolled into town with no money. I went to PCU to cash my check and they wouldn't do it for up to 10 days, they thought my Drivers Licence and Social Security was not enough to prove who I was, and they sent me back and forth (walking) between the bank and home 3 times trying to establish i was who I was. After calling to find out what else they want and asking for a manager, and not getting one, I had had it. I went to LMCU and the whole story was completely different. I was treated with respect. My ID and SS were more than enough to prove myself, I was able to cash my check right then and there AND use my card the next day. Had it not been for them I would have been without food for weeks or i would have had to give away some of my hard earned money at Wal*Mart to cash my check. The only reason they haven't earned my 5th star is because their ATM is not a cooperative. I think they would benefit from cooperating with other credit unions, allowing someone like me, without wheels, to take out their money at an ATM within walking distance. If you have a car, I highly recommend going here. They won't screw around with you and will treat you like a customer, and not a "another bothersome customer".
