THIS PLACE NEEDS SHUT DOWN Only had a one start because 0 starts isn't an option. Nurses have terrible communication skills. Nurses don't explain anything except in there medical terms. (not everyone is a nurse). Extremely rude and roles there eyes when you ask them to do something as if it's not there job. My grandpa was here for 19 days and they got him no where except ICU every other day. Transferred to Cleveland Clinic and is stable finally. They also were extremely rude when my family decided it was time to transfer him to the Cleveland clinic. I would not even bring my fish to this place it's a joke.

I visited the gynecology department and the receptionist was not personable at all. My experience was a bit much to explain everything but she wasn’t helpful at all and she got smart with me. It’s hard to get in touch with their office and they never answer. Thankful my insurance is through UH now because I’ll never visit that office again and I’m going to tell everyone I know.

I just got home from the worst experience in my life. I had been told after having several horrible experiences with TriPoint Hospital that lake west was better and then I would get better care so I was desperate and I went to Lake West. Believe me it was no better. I went in there with a terrible Dental issue. I was told buy a very nasty receptionist at the desk that because I was Medicaid I was not going to receive any treatment and she advised me to go home. When I try to explain to her almost in tears that I couldn't handle the pain anymore and I needed help she told me that that I could go sit in the waiting room and that the wait would be at least 8 hours probably more. With no guarantee of treatment. I was told that Lake Health Hospital Systems has a new policy where they only take a minimum amount of Medicaid and no insurance people because they prefer paying patients with super good insurance. I was also informed the lake Health Hospital Systems has a dentist and oral surgeon on call. The only reason that I was going in at all to this hospital was because my nurse practitioner had told me that I was endanger of getting endocarditis because of the infection in my gums and mouth and she said I needed care immediately. When I explain this to this nasty nurse who seem to enjoy upsetting me and causing me to have panic and anxiety she just laughed at me as I was trying to explain to her what my nurse practitioner said. Then she launched into this tirade or rage about how people with no insurance and Medicaid smell and are uneducated and we feel that we should get everything for free. When I told her that my nurse practitioner said that I could die without care she looked at me with the most awful look on her face and she told me well then you die you're one less drain on the system. When I ask this horrible woman who the oral surgeon on call was she said his name was Dr Schneider but there was no point and calling him because she said he refused to come in for Medicaid or uninsured people. I didn't know what else to do so I waited in the waiting room for as long as I could stand it after 6 hours and I hadn't even been checked in I finally like several other people who I got to talking to in the waiting room that were also Medicaid we walked out. I will never go to this Hospital nor will I recommend it to my worst enemy. Unless you like being abused and made to feel like you're a nothing and then left in the waiting room to die I would advise people to avoid this Hospital. Avoid the whole Lake Hospital systems. It seems the only solution to getting good care whether it be medical or dental if you live in Lake County is to either go to Geauga Hospital or go to Cleveland.

Dr. Bonder treated me last night. He was an extremely rude and an incompetent physician. Any time I questioned him he would get frustrated. He also made rude remarks. I’m not sure why he’s still employed. I guess it makes sense that a crappy hospital would employ crappy doctors. Treatment as a whole was subpar. I had the misfortune of having to go to this hospital. Would definitely not recommend it. Go anywhere else if you can. If you have to, ask for a different physician because Dr. Bonder is not a great physician.

I also am only giving 1 star because there is no option for 0. This hospital is like being in Hell. My sister went into emergency Christmas Eve, had to have an operation, the incision kept getting infected, they let her lay in bed and get weak, kicked her out because insurance expired, sent her to rehab with infections, rehab had to send her back due to the infections she got from the hospital, SHE IS STILL THERE. The Dr. says she needs to get up and move but the nurses say they do not have time to help her. She is so weak, now has kidney problems from the MRI medicine, cannot swallow...they are just letting her wither away....just from surgery. She should have had surgery and been home to recover. Please do not send someone you love to this place.
