Lake City Motel

This is a CLASSIC independent 2 star motel. The good points: it was safe, the door locked, and it was free of insects and/or mold. However, the room reeked of old cigarettes despite being officially non-smoking, the outlets stopped working in the middle of the night, and the temperature of the shower swung wildly between ice cold and scalding the entire time it was in use no matter how you adjusted the taps. The water pressure was also terrible, but I expected that. To be fair, the room was shabby but not actually dirty although it looked nothing like the pictures we’d seen before booking, the mini fridge worked, and the mattress was decent.nI’ve done a lot of budget travel. None of these complaints are inherently deal breakers if the price is right. But at $150 a night, if I’d known these things going in, I’d have paid the extra to stay at a better hotel and on the Halifax side of the river.

It was good value for money, the room wá sparsely furnished. Furniture was a bit miss matched, and outdated. That said it was clean and functional. Good place to stay if you want a cheap place in the city. It is very much a case of you get what you pay form

Gross room with black mold in the bath. Stains on the linens and towels. Area is sketchy. We couldn't get out of there fast enough! Don't stay here!

I almost burned to death in that motel ,and have the scars to prove it! Good luck .the wiring is old and it's BAD!!!
