La Piazza is one of the Italian restaurants located within EATALY Toronto. It has a casual atmosphere, quite bright and open. You do get the feeling of still being within the plaza but, the decor and the ambiance make it all work out. The food selection is good with some of the Italian basics covered. I would say that it is more of a trattoria than a proper restaurant but, you have choices from snacks, pizzas or proper mains. Last time we went there, we were a party of four and we ordered an assortment of appetizers, several mains, as well as wine and cocktails. Overall, we all agreed that the food was delicious. Also, the service staff was very diligent and friendly as well. It may not be the best Italian restaurant in Toronto but, it was worth it.
The service was good - the waiter was very attentive. They provide you with complimentary bread and olive oil. The olive oil is top grade - It’s so good. I ordered the gnocchi and while the texture was very pillowy, the sauce lacked flavour for me. It needed something more and it just didn’t hit the spot for me. Great atmosphere and cute spot to sit at the bar for a date night or something! would consider going back to try the pizza they also don’t have chicken on the menu
Visited Eataly with some friends and found La Piazza within Eataly while looking for some tasty pasta for dinner ! We ordered a few things to share. The burrata was very tasty it was a great appetizer to start off with if you like your cheese! We also got the Capesante and if you like scallops these were very fresh and sweet! For pasta we ordered the Tagliatelle Verdi Con Ragu Modenese and boy was this tasty! The beef Ragu was packed with flavour complimenting the perfectly cooked al dente spinach Tagliatelle! We also ordered the Ravioli Ai Funghi and this one is a winner! It was so good that we ordered ANOTHER ONE. The mushrooms cooked inside has such an amazing truffle flavour you are sure to LOVE! Lastly we got the Prosciutto Cotto E Funghi which was cooked perfectly, awesome pizza. Nothing to rave too hard about but it was tasty Look forward to coming back for some more of that Ravioli!
Had lunch here with a friend last year. While the atmosphere and waiter was nice, the food on the other hand was a bit of a let-down. Portion was way too small for the price they charged. The Ravioli al Funghi was okay. Pizza was a tad bit hard to chew. Toronto has better Italian restaurants. If you're looking for one, this is definitely not the place! Value for price:
I loved the Food and all the flavors! This place does have 3 restaurants within the spaces which is also a chic super market! At first you think you were lost It was different. We didn't feel like we were in the middle of a supermarket at all. After dinner we walked around the market and found a dessert stand! I honestly don't agree with the most of the google reviews for this place! I am very picky with how I review places ! Parking: Free is you provide the pass to the restaurant to notify
Everything seemed overpriced for what it was especially the drinks. The pizza was alright but nothing special. Just couldn't get a good vibe from the place considering it sits within a grocery store.
Servers were friendly and food was good. However, we were asked at the beginning if we wanted sparkling or still water. We’d been to the Pizza and Pasta spot before and hadn’t been charged for the sparkling water so we ordered the same thing here. When our bill came it was a $9 charge. This is the same sparkling water that is sold for $3.50 in the Eataly market. If this place is going to upcharge it so significantly, they should at least warn people that they will be charged for it when offering it as an option.
one of the worst experience I have had. I am lactose intolerant, but I was craving a pizza, so I asked for mine to be without chees. The waiter refused to accept my request, saying that the chef was really picky about his food and would not accept to do a pizza without cheese. I repeated that I was lactose intolerant, he could not care less, and said that the most that they could do and do a sort of pizza with tomato sauce and pieces of garlic on it. he did not even try to make it appetizing.Multiple times in the past, when I ordered a pizza, I have asked to have it without cheese, and it was NEVER a problem. I was shocked by the waiter rudeness, and it makes me feel that maybe the pizzas, instead of being freshed were already premade, which is why it would be impossible to have mine without cheese. I opted for my second choice, the gnocci, the portion was really small, and really bland. there was no salt and pepper on the table, and by the time the waiter came to ask if things were ok, I had already finished my meal, took me 4 bites. despite asking for it, we never had the complimentary bread, even though there was an empty bowl on the tableto containt the oil and olive .Very disappointing experience, would never go back there
Friendly service, but the pizza was very disappointing, both in quality and quantity, for the price. You're better off going to any of the other restaurants in the building or even at any of the pizza chains around the block.Food: 2/5
Very annoying seating policies. Always turning people away for “closed sections” or “no seating” when there is clearly so much space, but the tables settings are for the next day. When they’re 1-2+ hours from closing. Make a reso well in advance or don’t bother. Also, drinks are alright.
