Best restaurant in Jasper hands down!!! My boyfriend and I visited Jasper for the first time a couple months ago and we’re surprised to find this little bistro, we were super impressed and came here 3 times during our 3 day stay. Once for dinner, once for drinks, and once for brunch! It’s a small menu, but assures me that everything is fresh. The service and food is great and definitely a hidden gem in Jasper!!!
One of the best food we had during our road trip in Banff and Jasper national park. Inspired by Asian food and great balance of each ingredients and tasty sauce. Nice presentation as well. Staff are super friendly! Definitely will come back for food.
A hidden gem at Jasper. It has been a while since we had a decent dining experience. We ordered the Elk Tartar, Risotto and the Bison Tagliatelle and they were on point. Service was excellent and the house cocktails we ordered were delicious and refreshing. It’s definitely a memorable dining experience for us during our stay at Jasper.
Host was very attentive as they have only been open a few days into the season and I was the only customer. I followed his recommendations and ordered the Ribeye and got a chocolate dessert. Both were fantastic! A little on the pricey side for what I'm used to but you get what you pay for! Perfect spot to take someone on a date or treat that special person in your life. I'll definitely be back again!
Completely blown away. This is one of the most incredible culinary experiences I’ve had. The delicious and unique flavour profiles of each dish left us speechless. Highly recommend. Their hand crafted cocktails are also superb. We had the elk tartare, mushroom tart, ahi tuna and octopus, and the chickpea fritter with eggplant. Pictures don’t do it justice.
Dined here twice during our trip to jasper. Fabulous food and service. The chickpeas fritters were so good that we had to visit one more time. We also had the raviolo, the mushroom tart, sea bass, the house made soft serve and chocolate tart. Everything was amazing. Wouldn’t be surprised if this place is recommended by Michelin soon.
A hidden gem in the wilderness. Small intimate restaurant in a lodge. We ordered the mushroom tart must eat, elk tartare a bit salty, but the crackers are amazing and balances out the saltiness, porchetta the accompanying rutabaga was really tasty and Sable fish average . Portions are big and service is excellent.
The first gourmet restaurant I have seen in this week-long trip in Canada. From Calgary, Canmore to Banff, Lake Louise and Emerald Lake, We tried high review restaurants along the way. Some were good, some were nah..... But Kumama is a different level! Totally out of our expectation. I can feel the chef loves the food and want to deliver such love to the guest. Were so full on the 1st day that we had to come back the 2nd day to try the other half of Kumama's menu. We love the bison pasta and risotto best but basically everything is GOOD.
I wanted to try Kumama after seeing the menu and dining space from the lobby of Pine Bungalows, where I stayed overnight in Jasper. The Bungalows offer a small discount voucher here for guests which is a welcome perk. My eggs Benedict was not runny altho I asked for soft poach, but the Hollandaise and the freshness of the spring mix salad and egg were excellent. Served on a puff buttery pastry, with thick cut bacon in between, this was a very unique take on an eggs benny! I think I still prefer it on an English muffin, especially since the butter pastry and egg weren’t quite the best blend for my palette, but it was definitely something new that I wanted to try. Service was friendly and attentive. I’d say it’s worth the drive out to this location for both brunch and dinner- it’s nestled in the woods so I think it’ll be a fun experience to get out of the busy commercial district of downtown Jasper to dine here.
Lovely place just outside of Jasper. We had a really fantastic breakfast: French toast, Eggs Benedict, breakfast sandwich... All of it handmade, fresh and delicious! Strong recommendation.
