Excellent steak! I tried their tenderloin - cooked perfectly to medium and it was very soft & tender as you slice through, like warmed butter. The garlic topping was also very flavorful. The accompanying mashed potatoes and asparagus were also tasty but not anything out of the ordinary. The sauce could arguably be on the slightly salty side but was nice to dip your steak or potatoes in. Dessert was a vanilla ice cream with a crisp ?crepe/cookie with nice caramel flavor, sitting on top of a muffin. The different textures from the crispy cookie to the soft muffin were enjoyable. The vanilla ice cream was very strong in flavor too. Definitely enjoyed the food and will be back for when there is a steak craving!
Quaint little setting perfectly lite for a relaxing evening dinner. Server and host we’re cherry and delightful As well as personal and helpful with menu selection and recommendations. Very attentive to our needs. The food was enjoyable with beautiful charring on the steak and salmon favourite was the appetizer and wine. Price was a little bit high in comparison to other calibre restaurants, flavour decent but not outstanding though the atmosphere and service offset these points.
We had such an excellent experience here! We all ordered the steak, which was cooked correctly, and which was juicy and tender. For appetizers we had the calamari, the tuna tartare, and the beef carpaccio, all of which were excellent and we would definitely order again. We tried for dessert the lava cake, butter cake, and toffee pudding, and again they were all incredible. The best part of the night though was our server, Tara, she was hospitable, kind, fun, and has an awesome sense of humor. Her service tonight was the cherry on top of an epic evening.
Although I consider this one of the top places for steak in Calgary, it's nice to see their other dishes are equally delicious. Highly recommend the gnocchi and scallops. Service was excellent and atmosphere is always great. Their brussel sprouts will leave you lusting for more.
Food was good, nice atmosphere. We were there to celebrate our son’s 21st birthday. We had a couple orders of calamari for an appetizer, it was delicious. The evening started with some cocktails, they have a nice cocktail menu and a beautiful red merlot was paired with dinner, steak dinners for 5 in the party and one person enjoyed the Prawn pasta dinner.
Ever since I moved to a Calgary I always heard about how great Saltlik was, so I was genuinely excited to dine here. You walk in and the ambiance/atmosphere is quite charming and welcoming. The front of house staff took excellent care of us, which is to be expected from an establishment with so much hype. We started with the Tuna Tartare which had a very underwhelming marinade consisting of way too much sesame seed oil. I was still hopeful that the mains would save the day, but unfortunately that was not the case. The missus ordered the grilled salmon and it was a little dry, the saving grace the truffle ravioli. I ordered the New York Strip-loin, medium rare, with béarnaise sauce. I was extremely disappointed with the meal. The steak wasn’t seasoned very well and it came out medium. The béarnaise came out really thick leading me to believe that some amateur cost cutting ‘chef’ prepared my meal. With drinks, dessert, and tip the bill came out to $250+ and I really felt that I didn’t get my money’s worth from them. Would not return.
Visited this restaurant twice so far. My first experience with this restaurant was beyond and above my expectation. So i went there again on last Friday, my medium rare steak came over cooked. it looked/tasted more like medium well or even well done. other than that, staff were kind and helpful.
The crostone was unique and delicious. Easily the best steak I have ever had. Choosing my own sides was a great touch. Service was excellent. Portion sizes we great. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Will definitely be back.
Online reservation was easy to book. The hostess was inviting and prompt with our arrival. We were seated quickly and didn't have to wait. We were offered waters while we looked over the menu and the water was brought over very quickly. Severs were on top of making sure we had everything we needed and our drinks weren't sitting empty. She also managed to check in frequently without being overbearing or interrupting always a balancing act, as a server I know the struggle. The bathroom was gorgeous and so clean. Definitely wasn't expecting a bathroom that was so nice and inviting. Probably sounds weird but it was a pleasant surprise so I thought I'd mention it in the review. The food was top notch. Flavours were perfect, portion size was good, steak was cooked perfectly. And the brussel sprouts? Omg I'll forever dream of those between visits.
Went here to celebrate with some work friends. Honestly, we were blown away, everything from the food to the drinks and the service was top notch, easily one of my favourite experiences in restaurant ever
