We had the tasting menu and it was PHENOMENAL. Absolutely blown away at every course. All dishes had its very own nuisances - being packed with flavour and citrus. The service was also very fast and extremely friendly/welcoming. The atmosphere was very inviting and upbeat. All in all, the best Thai food experience I’ve had in Vancouver. I usually don’t leave reviews but I had to for Kin Kao Song as this place is criminally underrated - at least on Google reviews. Highly, highly recommend!
RUN, don’t walk!! This place blew me away with the utter perfection in flavour and texture in every dish. We came here for a celebration meal and ordered the tasting menu $90/p and it was so worth it. The absolute best Tom Yum soup I’ve had in my life hands down!!! The Massaman curry was so incredibly rich and delicious nothing is too rich for me, may not be for you if you’re sensitive to heavy dishes. I especially loved the added touch of fried potatoes in the curry. The cocktails tasted so good, like juice but I was definitely feeling the alcohol further down the meal. Every single dish was just perfection and my partner and I were just relishing every single bite. Definitely my favourite meal of the year.
Food is absolutely delicious. We like every dish we ordered. Chicken wing, whole fish, curry duck confit and their dessert are so good! Service is attentive and efficient. Interior is like a Japanese style, lots of wood. Only thing I didn’t like the the auto gratuities of 20% for a group of 5 and more. We are four adults and 3 toddlers. I mean 20% is too much for this kind of restaurant in my opinion. Other than this, the dining experience was pleasant and enjoyable.
3.5 stars but unfortunately no half star option. First time being here, pretty busy for a weekday night. The crispy tofu is very good and probably one of the best I had in town. But I probably won't be back. The cocktail Bangkok city tasted like medicine. Could not finish it. Grilled Pork Jowl and shrimp toast were average. Did not like the red duck curry too thick to my taste for Thai curry and too salty. I wish they thin it more with coconut cream. Overall it's alright, service was good. But the food is a bit disappointing.
This place is always packed! Made a reservation a few days in advance and was only able to snag a table for 4 at 5:15pm. There was a Chef’s Tasting Option for $90/pp. We opted to order off the menu instead and it did not disappoint. Great food, great vibes. Would definitely come again! Highlights were the Oysters, Crab Fried Rice and Mussels. I don’t think I would order the Short Rib Stir Fry and Crispy Tofu again though - they were good but nothing memorable.
Excellent night out at Kin Kao Song. Atmosphere was great. Restaurant decor was beautiful and well suited to the vibe. Service was friendly and professional! Food was just amazing! Had the chefs tasting menu, lots of food for a very reasonable price! Highly recommend giving Kin Kao Song a visit. You won’t be disappointed!
A flavourful journey from first bite to last. Two of us, both hungry, split two snacks - shrimp toast and lemongrass chicken wings - and two entrees - crab fried rice and stir fry short rib. This was more than enough food! The lemongrass chicken wings were a definite surprise hit, with a delicious sauce to accompany the crispy wings and lemongrass strips. The crab fried rice was a blend of sweet crab and salty rice. Will be back!
Excellent Thai food, especially the soup and Pad Thai. Their special, fried tilapia with chili garlic flakes, was also really good. The portions are fairly large, so beware of ordering too much. Will definitely be coming back here.
The best Thai restaurant I have been to in Vancouver. The flavours were impacted and the ingredients were high quality. The price is on the higher end and expect to spend about $50-60 per person with sharing plates, mains and drinks. Do ask for their specials as we got their tilapia which was delightful approx $47 though Their Tom Yum Soup limited item was so good. A must try is their Pomelo salad- truly never had a salad like it before. The service was great and recommend you make reservations in advance!
Food is unexpected excellent. Don’t expect very traditional Thai but little details make a traditional dish even better! Servers spent time to explain each dish in detail. Especially coconut mousse with mange sticky rice!
