This place is excellent if you want traditional Japanese cuisine! The service is stellar and the music was quite enjoyable too. Realistically it was a tad pricey ($71 per person with tip depending on the main and beverage) - so a once in a while treat, but overall enjoyable.

Outstanding service and quality. Highly recommended. If you're lucky, Simon will serve your table. My mom has been coming to this restaurant for 25 years and it hasn't changed much in that time.

I thought I would give this place a try based on the positive reviews. The reviews were very different from the actual experience, other than the common bad customer service, which was, yeah bad. Visited on January 30 for winterlicious. Despite being a Tuesday, I thought it was a bit odd to have so many tables available, when you compare to other restaurants with similar reviews. Anyways made reservation for 2, requested the teppanyaki table. To make it short, I will list the reasons why it is a 1 star. 1. Teppanyaki chef's usually engage with customers, he just cooked away. 2. The quality of the ingredients looked ok, but the food was bad. The so called Wagyu beef was a bit burnt on the outside and completely raw in the inside (requested medium rare). The vegetables were a bit burnt. Lobster tail was way overcooked and was just rubbery. 3.Chose the sorbet and ice cream. There was a strand of hair in the ice cream (it looked like it was the server's hair, based on the colour and the length) Asked the server to get another one. She looked at the bowl closely and just walked away. Came back and asked if I would like something else or just the ice cream. As a server, when the customer finds something in their food, that is not supposed to be there, first thing you should do is apologize, not just walk away with it. 4. Wayyyyyyyyy over priced for the quality and the service. I think Memories of Japan by Don Mills and Eglinton provides better food, service and price
