Everything was as expected. When I needed to extend my stay by a night I was able to, though I had to go to the front desk to get my cards re-activsted twice. The room was spacious and even though I asked for no turn down service I was greeted the second day with a freshly made bed. I didn't use the water park but I would hardly call a slide and a children's play area a "water park." All in all it was exactly what I expected. No complaints.

I received what I believed to be a really good deal on the Kahler Apache. It was listed as a 3.5 star hotel and it was very cheap through a booking site.
Upon arrival, I was informed that the hold on my credit card was going to be the price of my room for all nights booked, plus 15%. This was unacceptable to me, so they allowed me to leave a $100 cash deposit.
I went to my room. I opened the door and was taken aback at how ran down the place was. The doors were all filthy and looked like they had been abused for years. The room itself was fairly drab and shabby. The place looks more like a 2 star. It's old and ran down. There's nothing wrong with old if it's taken care of. The bed was what you'd expect in a 2 star, hard and uncomfortable. However, the pillows were the most comfortable pillows I've ever slept on. They were great. And, the air conditioner in my room worked great.
I think it's believed to be a much nicer place than what it really is. There's an indoor pool with a water slide and a hot tub, a restaurant/bar attached to the hotel. If that makes it a 3.5 star hotel, I strongly disagree.
Upon check out, the manager herself was less than friendly and quite obviously would rather have been anywhere but there. To make a very long story short, I waited over 30 minutes to receive back my cash deposit. I was patient for the first 20 minutes, but I quickly grew impatient and that definitely seemed to speed up the process.
All in all, it's not a terrible place for what I paid through the booking site. However, their deposits and incidental holds are ridiculous.
I would not stay there again and would not recommend anyone that I know to stay there.

Place is pretty dumpy overall, but the kids enjoyed the pool and breakfast was ok. I wouldn't have bothered to write a review until we had a visit from some of the cleaning staff this morning.
They knocked on the door to say that the pizza boxes we put in the hall by our door for garbage(which I'm pretty sure is common practice) "make the hotel look trashy". I'm sorry folks but this hotel makes this hotel look trashy.
Peeling paint/wall paper all over the place, dirty carpets throughout.
In our room were shoddy repairs done to drywall in walls and ceiling. The door lock seem to only work one out of four times to enter the room even though it lit up green every time the card was inserted. The toilet chain broke.
Apparently they have something against using fitted sheets on the mattresses so the bed unmade quickly. Cleaning staff was kind enough to leave an extra dirty towel from previous guests. They give you a channel list maybe half of which work.
The place would be real nice if they fixed it up.

Had a great stay. Real nice pool and room was nice clean and had really comfortable beds. Receptionist were very nice also. Breakfast had many choices to satisfy anyone and there was plenty to go around.

Rooms were clean, waterpark looked nice and big. Only issue was the toilet not flushing but they fixed it right away. Good continental breakfast. Nice check out and in times.
