The playground in the park is deservedly award winning. There's something more fun avout wooden playgrounds - they evoke a more adventurous environment, even if they are otherwise the same as the usual plastic fare. In this instance, however, the theme blends the locations two most obvious features - the beach and the railroad - into a playground that 5 year old me would be jealous of. Hell, middle aged me was jealous as well! Anyway, my two children loved it and I couldn't see any other child there who wasn't taking full advantage of the slides, ladders, ropes and climbing frames.

Great spot for kids. Clean with bathrooms nearby. Bring a picnic and spend the afternoon there

This place is gorgeous with generous parking which I will talk about later. The place is perfect for picnics while enjoying the ocean view away from the noise in Downtown Vancouver. It's relaxing and fun for the family. The kids have a really nice to play at. There's a gigantic playground for them to play in. I've never been here at night, but I could assume that there's a nice sunset here. About the parking, you can only park up to an hour. While this isn't favorable for those who want to just park and relax, it's very generous to those who are looking for a chance to park and drop their stuff. It is only in effect til 6pm. =) I hope this helps!

Located at 750 12th Street I West Vancouver. On the north side of Marine Drive, use the left turn bay for Ambleside Park. There is a play area for children. There is limited parking in the park. And a footpath connecting to Ambleside Park which has a lease free section for dogs and includes a portion along the water front. NOTE there is no street parking along Marine Drive
