I have been going to Grouse for skiing and snowboarding for the past 4 years and it has been awesome however, this year it’s really really busy. The line ups take hours to get through. Today and yesterday I had snowboarding lessons and both days I was late for my lesson because there was also a separate long line to rent my equipment. Luckily today, there was a separate line for people in lessons to get on the gondola faster but a lot of people didn’t know about it. I understand that the winter season at Grouse can be busy, but I wish that more could be done to improve the situation.

Beautiful scenic spot. Nice cable car system. Gets pretty touristy and pack during weekends and holidays. I have never tried the ski slopes but I have seen a good number of people heading there for it. During winter, you can skate on the pond and during Christmas season, lots of activities.

If you enjoy sitting on the ground eating your lunch, purchased at the mountain - due to lack of space and seating in the lodge - this is your place. If you enjoy taking your board off to get to the lodge or lifts then this perfect for you. Not my kind of place, I like to be able to sit and eat my lunch and have a nice flow to the ride. Of course the line up issue is very clear and has been an issue at Grouse for years. Definitely wouldn't recommend, head to Seymour or Cypress instead, if you're local. Hemlock - newly names sasquatch - is a small mountain, but a lot more flow to it and the lodge has way more seating. It's quite comical how the lack of seating issue hasn't been eradicated even though it's always been an issue. It seems management only cares about the money they make and not the enjoyment of clients

We went for the peak of Christmas not knowing how busy it would be. The wait just to get on the sky ride was over an hour, and with small children, it’s really difficult to handle! But we got up there only to find it just as insanely busy! We wanted to check our bags as we brought skates up and wanted to do more activities after skating. I waited 15 minutes just to buy a tag at guest services, then I had to wait to hand my bag in, which was ridiculous, someone should have just been handling the bags, as they are supposed to be accessible! I paid $10 for them to hold my bags hostage, as when I wanted them to get my kids shoes after skating, the girl at the desk told me I had to wait like everyone else! I explained to her that as most people in the line up had issues that required troubleshooting and all I wanted was access to my bag, but it was a big “no!” So very frustrated I started standing in a 30 min line up after already waiting twice! In the end she gave in to someone else so I angrily walked up and handed my tags to her demanding my bag...when she brought them she assumed I was done and started taking my tags! I told her I didn’t know if I was done and she proceeded to argue with me about it! That was it! I was done...went to management and complained and got 5 tickets to come back! Will make sure it is not on such an insanely busy day!

The experience we had as a group here was better than I could have imagined. I went up in December with my co-worker and 3 of our clients from a care home with huge senses of adventure. We were expecting to just ride up the gondola and take the sleigh but when we got up we realised wheelchairs would NOT make it to the sleigh. All the staff at the lodge immediately came and offered to help us lift our clients and transfer then up snowy steps as it would have been difficult for the 2 of us only. They then assisted them all into the sleigh. They had the time of their lives and then were offered snowmobile rides back to the lodge as it was back up a hill. We are so thankful that everyone here made it so accommodating for them and us, and gave them a memory they won't forget! Your kindness will be remembered. Thank you, Samantha
