Jocko's Motel

Update 2022 - This place was SOLD in 2020 and really upgraded. Not the same place as my review indicates - There is no common room offered. We had a get together in 2019 with siblings, nieces, nephews and grandchildren and booked all but one of the motel units. We all had a great time over the long weekend. The rooms are comfortable and the Guthrie's offered the largest room as a common room with lots of tables and chairs so we are most of our meals there. Beach is just across the road and this year they installed shade sails to provide a bit of relief from the hot sun Overall a great place for our group of about 30 people.

Extremely happy with our stay here! The rooms are spacious & spotless, with equipment for cooking. There is a beach right at the resort, and we rented a boat to go out fishing on the lake. The surrounding area is gorgeous for hikes, etc. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be coming back :Rooms: 5/5

Friendly laid back atmosphere. Cabins were clean and country comfortable. Somewhat expensive for a one night stay as you won't have time to enjoy the outdoor amenities. Very quiet.

Motel room was spacious, clean, well-appointed. The kitchenette features were great and I was able to prepare my own dinner and breakfast. I had a good night's sleep and was able to attend a local event well-rested the next day.

This is our second year staying at Jockos with a large group for a fall colors ride. Don't let the term "low key" rooms fool you. The motel rooms are huge, well equipped and extremely clean. The large beds are very comfortable. The beach area is lovely and there are plenty of canoes, kayaks, etc to use. I highly recommend this place for a stay any time of year.

Don’t let the name fool you... It’s called a motel but the quality of the rooms and the cleanliness of the beds/sheets/carpets is like a quality hotel...in fact the bathroom/shower are great/clean. not to mention the room also has a spacious kitchen for making dinners/breakfast. We docked our boat and the kids played on the beach. At night there were multiple places to have a bonfire and tell stories. We also needed a late checkout and they were very nice and gave it to us without question... This is a hidden gem in Calabogie.

The chalet I stayed in was nicely maintained and had air conditioning which kept us sane during the very hot weather. The beach is nice and the lawn is well kept. There are sups, floaties and chairs for free use. The extra restrooms and showers were also well maintained.

Exactly what I expected as far as room. Great quality for the price. Stove and fridge added benefit. Very friendly staff. Bring your own shampoo, only bar of soap available. No iron available in room.Rooms: 5/5

The cabins and motel are very clean and well kept. Joe and Lenore are fantastic owners! Such a beautiful place to visit with great fishing and water activities. You will not regret booking a getaway at Jockos resort.

Nice place to stay, especially during hunting season. Hard mattresses though, so it might be a bit of a tough sleep. However, the rooms have a kitchenette and Shaw TV, so it's nice otherwise. Also right by the water of Calabogie Lake, so nice view.
