Discovered this place on Yelp as a recommended new restaurant to check out. Food was delicious, tonnes of flavour in their broths, and the serving size was massive had lots of leftover for take-home. Also, very generous portions of their meat/veggies in the meals some other places just overload on the carbs/starches. Service was also super friendly and the staff were super attentive to us and our toddler. Early weekend dinner rush was quiet, but they did have a steady stream of take-out pickups. Love that the location is a lot closer to home not many Korean restaurants near the Cornell area. Will definitely come here more often!
First time going there. Very friendly staff, I like restaurants that are not too big and not so noisy. Like my spicy tofu soup , other dishes we ordered were very good too. I will definitely go back there again and try other dishes. Reasonable prices
Have been waiting for this new location to be opened for months. We were happy to be there as their first customers as soon as it is opened today. Their food are as delicious as their other locations, always meet our expectations. The restaurant is spacious and clean. Customer services was great too. Recommended Korean restuarants in Markham.
It was my first time to have Korean food here. The restaurant was very busy during dinner time on a Tuesday evening. They were short of people working, even though there was only one server, but the service was acceptable. We ordered one Gamjatang Pork Bone Soup & one Soon Tofu Spicy Tofu with Beef Soup. Each soup came with complimentary side dishes, kimchi and rice. The food tasted quite good and the portion was reasonable. We will go back and try out other items on the menu next time.
Jeon Ju Hyang definitely fills the void for authentic and homemade Korean fare in East Markham. All you're expecting from restaurants on Yonge, you'll find the same level of authenticity and quality here. The kitchen is run by a number of Korean moms, and that means some very homey and wholesome flavours. The spicy seafood noodle Jammppong broth flavour has a deep seafood flavour and has a great spice level. I was pleased to see the spicy cold noodle bibim naenmyeon on the menu, and it definitely didn't disappoint. Both noodles were cooked to the right level of chewiness, and both were intense with the spicey flavours you'd expect. Star of the show was the fried Mandu. The outer shell was delicate and crispy, and the inside is packed with meat and veg. Everything looks and tastes homemade, including the side dishes. The cold seaweed was a hit. We ordered takeout 2 days after our initial visit, and as expected the food was excellent. You can tell that the Korean Fried Chicken was made with care! The crispy outer shell remained crispy even after 30 minutes in a box, and the flavours were deep and addictive. We ordered the spicy sauce flavour yaemyong and the soy/garlic, both were really good but I'd definitely order yaemyong again and ask for the spice level to be jacked up just a little bit. Super pleased there's a really great Korean option on the east side of Markham now. Will definitely return.
This pretty much is a hidden gem in this neighborhood. We love their pork bone soup and spicy fried chicken lunch special. The pork bone soup is even better than the famous owl's. Less salty, but has all the flavor n depth . I come back every week to have their soup.
Great Korean selection of food at reasonable prices. Portions are also generous. Restaurant is large and clean, and they keep napkins and utensils in boxes on the table. I'm not sure if this is authentically Korean as the servers spoke Mandarin and Cantonese, but it doesn't really matter. I will return. They offer refill of side dishes .
Realistically, this place deserves stars but I’m giving it 4 stars for our waitress middle-aged, Chinese lady with the ponytail working who was taking care of everything! She was taking customers’ orders, serving food, handling pick-ups, handling cash, etc. She was doing 2 people’s job and was so nice to all the dine-in customers. She honestly deserved majority of the 15% tip we gave. If she’s reading this, thank you so much! We ordered beef soon tofu and gamjatang with an additional grilled mackerel for $8.99 to go with our soup. The gamjatang came in a big portion but it was okay. I enjoyed my soon tofu but was disappointed when I found that the beef was just small pieces of ground beef than slices. For $15.95, I expected better. The banchans were nice and it was good that they offered to refill up to 3 banchans. Mackerel was okay too. Overall, the place is alright - not terrible but not amazing. It’s the closest Korean food restaurant if you’re coming from far east Markham. I’ll probably come again for lunch special to try.
When my wife told me that this spot opened up and mentioned bee had to try, no objections there! Ordered the beef soon tofu, beef bulgogi, klan pung ki, boneless fried chicken and kimbap The food was packed with flavour! And the soondobu was with its fiery orange broth was even nice for a takeout bowl! The kimbap was good but not great and the fried items were nice and tasty but not crispy. All potentially due to the face that it was takeout. But with that being said, would definitely return because the taste and how hot and fresh everything was, was nice! and not many Korean places on this side of markham, so it’s a nice change! The other thing that would make me return was the service. Really nice people working there! Although my interactions were quick, they had a nice energy to them! Great job overall! Pretty good Korean food and a much needed Korean restaurant in East Markham. The menu is pretty varied and the food we've tried has been good. Location is clean and service is attentive.
