We found this place randomly when looking for some breakfast, and what a little gem this is! First of all, all the staff we encountered were all very friendly and warm. This cafe with a casual vibe has an appetizing brunch menu, serving elevated, unpretentious, wholesome & hearty food, with subtle African flares. They also offer a good selection of vegetarian options, and the coffee was great too! Their dinner menu looks fantastic as well, especially after reading all of the other Google reviews—can’t wait to try it out next time I visit the island!
Wow! Hands down one of my favorite restaurants ever! I love the unpretentious fine-dining vibe this place has. It's fine dining only in all the right ways! You can feel that every plate is thoughtfully made with love, great quality materials, and the flavor is tastefully balanced to perfection. You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes here
Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to write a review! This is our go to for a quality brunch in the greater Victoria area. The service is good and the people who work here really know their food. The dishes are consistent every. single. time. Their hot sauce is also house-made and amazing. Food here is world class and after having lived in big cities all my life, I would say that this is comparable. Hard to find a place in Victoria of this standard and worth the wait and the drive out if there is one.
Dog friendly heated patio. Great friendly atmosphere. Creative-casual fusion menu. Pork belly sandwich was great. Love their desserts and tarts. Good lattes. Potatoes were a bit dry inside but overall experience.Food: 5/5
Beautiful presentation. We went there for Valentine’s Day and we were pleasantly surprised by how much work and dedication they put into this set menu. Their brunch is also fantastic and I highly recommend it if you want to spend a bit less.
Absolutely delicious brunch. Coffee was hot and fresh. Service was great. The flavours of the food were the best I’ve had in a long time. Awesome place to come if you have food sensitivities as the menu works in so many ways for those of us who are gluten and dairy free.
There’s always a lineup to get in. Wait wasn’t too long, 10-15 minutes. Servers are nice and welcoming. Once you are seated, you have to go to the counter to order and pay for your meal. This method doesn’t really give you the after option of tipping the servers for the service. Has a nice happy family café feel to it. Food tasted good, jollof rice was the Ghanaian style, good spice too! Good presentation of food.
Blown out of the water by our experience at House of Boateng this Thursday. We were served by a phenomenal individual who was both knowledgeable and so passionate about the food and the company that the entire experience was made that much more inspiring. Each plate was like a cocktail of experience, the textures, flavors and presentation of the food will long be remembered. Thank YOU House of Boateng for bringing your A-Game
This restaurant is exceptional! My only criticism is that they do not have a tasting menu, but it is certainly understood when the meal arrives....so much care goes into the presentation that a tasting menu may be difficult, however, it would be welcomed because ALL dishes were fantastic and left me wanting to "eat the menu / taste all items" Photo's are of the Salmon - dijon and crispiness were perfection; Pork belly and vegetable with a hint of mint was a nice surprise; the Duck which I didn't get to try because my son ate it too quickly. Service was also exceptional. We were visiting my Son and wife [we live in Toronto] and we commented that this restaurant would entice me to move to the area!! Well done!
