No organization. Every year staff is being removed, added, or moved around different grades, the filth is on another level, and the necessities for students aren't cared for. The whole thing that made the school year tolerable was my classmates, not the school staff, which were extremely hostile and lazy. Anytime students complain it leads back to them, teachers are always picking favorite students in their classes. They can't tolerate a whisper from the girls, but boys can be having a disco and they won't even bother. Especially in Junior High, ever since they switched the teachers, students had a hard time adjusting to their teaching tactics. The teacher was more used to teaching large, high school classes rather then 15 students in middle school. The material was almost identical to highschool, and that's why most students couldn't adjust. If we asked for help, teachers would downgrade us and humiliate us for not knowing, as far as so teachers would openly talk back at you, gossip and give you uncomfortable looks. For the first half of the year, there were flying ants coming out of the vents, and neither did teachers care or school administration try to deal with it. They wouldn't call in any cleaners and allowed the ants to stay until they died off they didn't clean the dead bugs off either. We would ask for paper towels, or simple utensils/wipes and our school was not supplied with it. At one point the school would not give out any snacks for students who forgot lunches. Even worse the water would come out yellow, bright yellow from the drinking fountains, bathrooms were always smelly and there was always a toilet that flooded the whole bathroom. The temperature regulations were unbearable, students had to bring in blankets from home, and teachers wouldn't allow us to wear our winter coats over our school uniform. From the Islamic perspective, students were taught not to interact with the opposite gender and incorporated many islamic values into teaching. The student population was extremely low, and yet teachers couldn't balance and care for kids. Rumours, bullying and fights would go unnoticed by staff despite parents humble requests for help. Often the teachers would make random promises and would not follow through, when you asked why, they would blame it on you. Also the number of unnecessary rules and precautions this school took was exhausting, students would get in trouble over the tiniest things and suspensions were thrown around like beach balls. Highly disappointed
It is an overall nice school with a positive environment and lovely teachers. Though there are some hitches along the way the staff and parents are always trying to improve the quality of learning.
A very good school, it not only teaches kids islamic values but also help them grow to live a successful life
I love this school for my grand kids, they come home happy and love to go back to school. They are learning good things.
So happy to say I never have to step foot in this unorganized and unprofessional environment. After 4 years of a horrible experience, I have a lot to say. Let’s start with the teachers. All of the original teachers who taught me and came from before this year are amazing and will love them forever. Last year we were told that most of the teachers would be replaced with more experienced teachers. After a whole year with these teachers, I realized something. These teachers are used to teaching high school students, not junior high. Although throughout the year one of these teachers quickly adapted to the way we learn while balancing having fun experiences and maintaining positive relationships with students. The other teacher, however, from the beginning treated us as if we were high school students which is not right. One can argue they were preparing us for high school which I am all for, the only problem is they couldn’t keep up with themselves. This specific teacher would assign many assignments that one could argue were useless and to keep us busy. They would let all these assignments completed by us students pile up and when us students repeatedly asked for our marks we were left with a deadline and that deadline would pass. This week turned to 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks etc. There was a point where we didn’t get our marks for 3 whole months. After repeatedly complaining and asking for her to update our averages so we can see where we are and ask for extra assignments if necessary, this teacher would procrastinate grading assignments and waiting for the report cards to come out before grinding and getting all assignments marked at 4 am. Along with delayed marks, us students were not being paid attention to. This teacher would spend most of the class giggling and texting on her phone. After being accused of not trying in a class they didn’t pay attention to, several students were threatened to recieve a failing grade. I don’t believe this was a fair threat because this teacher didn’t even teach the class themselves. They just relied on the other teacher to come up with a curriculum and once this other teacher wasn’t able to do that anymore the teacher left students on their own to come up with something to do. When the students failed to come up with something, they were threatened to receive a failing grade leaving the students to do the same thing every day in the class. When students were burnt out and taking a break, that was when the teacher would decide to look up from their phone and see we are not doing anything although we had spent a long time doing what we were supposed to. So much more I could say but I’m tired of typing about this horrendous experience I endured at my final time at this school.
