Horizon Computing

My experience with Horizon Computing was very disappointing. A couple weeks before Christmas, I purchased a used computer which promptly failed on startup after only a few uses. I brought it back to be repaired under the 30-day repair warranty. Horizon had my computer for about 1 month and were not able to fix it due to not being able to get a replacement CPU. After waiting for 1 month, I was rather frustrated and got a full refund. During that month, communication was very poor. I had to initiate all communication to get updates on the status, to see if things had progressed as expected, to understand what the next step was going to be, etc. I felt that there was no initiative on the part of Horizon Computing to try to resolve the issue and get the computer I had paid for back to me in a timely manner. Some additional, qualifying statements: 1-Paul (the owner I believe) says he has been in poor health for some time and I believe he was telling the truth that this was a reason for the poor communication; 2-I was told the delay was because the CPU was ordered from a supplier, lost in transit, and supposedly reshipped but never arrived...again, I believe that is the truth. Generally, both with my experience and the very messy state of the physical location, Horizon Computing doesn't give me a feel of professionalism and customer service. I'm glad others have had better experiences.

Paul and Nigel are very knowledgeable and competent. I have always had good service and highly recommend them. Good deals on used equipment.

Recently went to see these guys for some help diagnosing and fixing the angry noise my computer was making. Paul helped me and had the new part installed quickly. Paul and Nigel gave me advice going forward, which I really appreciate. I'll definitely be going back to them for any future issues. Also, I got to play with Eric while Paul worked! Bonus dogs are always nice :) Thanks guys!

Apparently, installing malwarebytes costs $50. I brought in a broken laptop and told him there is a power supply issue. He called me back saying it can't be fixed. Instead of asking me what I want to do, he decided to 'clean out some viruses' and charge me $50 for something I could have done for free. When I asked him why he did not call me before he installed the software, he said ' I can put the viruses back on if you like'. Terrible and obnoxius customer service.
