Wow. Some people's sense of entitlement really shines through in their reviews, I give those people 1 star. From my own experience and talking to a couple customers, I think the beef with broccoli, General Tao and Shanghai noodles are the most popular items. Crispy Beef and Chicken are nice. Restaurant itself is like stepping back into the 80's. Overall a pretty average place. You can't really trust the 5 star ratings and the 1 star reviews on here are just personal attacks. Honestly a 3.5 for me but the owners look like nice hardworking people so 4 stars. A good choice if you live in the neighbourhood but def. better restaurants the farther you drive into downtown, same goes for any city. Note: Anything served with fried rice is not very fresh but not terrible either. I think they mix the leftover steamed rice and leftover fried rice, before frying it again. Steamed rice dishes are 8/10 for taste, 5/10 for fried rice dishes.

It's a good little local restaurant in the No Frills plaza. Lots of parking. Fast in and out. Food was decent, but I agree with others that fried rice dishes should be avoided. Any dish with steamed rice 🍚 is 9 out of 10 Note that this place is closed on Tuesdays for some reason 🤔 TorontoLocalGuide review.

Best Chinese food in the area, well priced and never lacks in quality. Always my go to.

Always fresh, huge portions and very affordable prices. Due to big demand of takeout orders, sometimes it is necessary to wait extra time, especially on weekends, but food is worth it :)

I first went to Hong Kong Gourmet in 2011, I've been a regular ever since. A late night stop in before heading home, or usually; drunk munchies. However; I was a regular. I without a doubt order any Chinese meal from this place. Until tonight; I ordered Combination 4, with a side of Chicken Balls & a 2L Organge Crush. Along with 2 egg rolls, standard... Here is where it gets strange! The man over the phone made it seem as if the restaurant was more than a mom and pop shop. Like he answered to someone other than himself, fair enough; I rarely order delivery and it's his shop; live life! But it became strange when the driver showed up, and said the order was $3 more than I was told over the phone. The man on the phone was very adimint about going over my order and making sure everything was right. So I remembered distinctly when he confirmed $25.60, three times. The driver requested 27.90, I had no idea why, the receipt reflected the order I placed but the prices were altered. When I called, I was forwarded 11 times (the man had to return to the store to answer) finally, he picked up. I played along; as if the man on the phone wasn't the driver, he called me poor and cheap and told me prices that were different from earlier. It is currently 3:00am, I placed this order at 1:50am, everything else is closed and they have hung up on me. I am an African American man, is this an act of racism or just pure horrible customer service??
