My husband and I are platinum members, we have been to several Holiday Inn and IHG locations, and this one was very disappointing.nnThe worst part was not being able to enjoy the pool, which is why a lot of families book hotels like this. Our first attempt was interrupted by a swim lesson from a third party - so the hotel makes extra money while squandering the amenities that their guests pay for. The next morning we decided to try the pool again, after about 5 minutes we were told to leave by a rude maintenance man who said they are fixing the hot tub broken, and it just so happened he needed to fix it that moment and didn't want water from people using the pool near it. No signs, no warning, nothing. He then rudely told us to return the toys my kids were using, we saw a cabinet and it had kids toys and floaties which many other hotels usually have. There was no lock, no sign, nothing to say they didn't belong to the hotel, and we were only informed by the rude maintenance man that the toys belonged to the third party and not the hotel. So in total, after a 3 day stay, we got 10 minutes in a pool that should have been accessible to us, but wasn't. Very disappointed.nnAlso, if you advertise coffee in the lobby until 11am, then keep it until 11am. We left early our plans to use the pool in the morning were cancelled and at 10:30am everything was put away.
We recently held our wedding ceremony and reception in two of the hotel banquet rooms.nnIt was incredible!nnThe banquet room was tastefully and perfectly staged, with tablecloths, linens, a stage for the head table, a dance floor, and buffet tables. We were able to comfortably seat approximately 110 people.nnAnd I keep receiving compliments on the choice of food!nnThat was all great, but it was the warm, personal, professional, and friendly service that was the icing on the proverbial cake. Shout out to the catering manager, Anita. She was very helpful and provided me with guidance where necessary.nnPramod was incredibly helpful and was always available!nnOur bartender, Sanjay was very friendly and quick!nnThank you, Team, for going above and beyond to make our wedding a success!
Yvette and Sophia at the front desk gave us exceptional service. We travelled here from Winnipeg with two special needs kids and they helped us navigate Edmonton, made sure our accommodations were comfortable and greeted us with the biggest smiles I’ve ever seen. If you are their manager, you should give them a special reward because they are why I will be recommending this hotel to anyone and everyone who will listen. Weary travellers turned into vacationers because of the extra effort and sincere caring these ladies demonstrated.
I stay here when I come to Edmonton for work. It is a confidently located hotel near my work office. Rooms are clean and the hotel for the most part is quiet. If you have a room facing Gateway Boulevard you might need ear plugs at night time. Rush hour can be felt and heard in your room.nnThe fitness centre is very bad. I dont expect a commercial gym, but it has 4 cardio machines, a bench, and dumbells going up to 30 Lbs. There is any type of machines. So if you're a fitness person, this may not fit your needs. There is a pool and a hot tub.nnLots of options for food. Monsoon is fantastic and Ricky's is really good.nnNo complaints on the staff.
Great hotel! We were very impressed with the staff and facilities. Staff incredibly helpful and pleasant which is not the norm in my experience. The rooms themselves were very spacious and clean. The room was fairly new and everything was comfortable. This was a prime location for access to the highway and a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. My only concern is a couple of times my card wouldn’t work so had to get replacements at front desk but other than that no issues. The hotel was quite busy with hockey teams and looked like some conferences but the area that’s all hosted would likely not affect the actual hotel rooms as far as noise. There’s two restaurants attached to the hotel as well. I will absolutely return to this hotel in the future.
