I have never stayed in a dirtier room, I made a request to switch rooms unfortunately there is nothing available here or anywhere nearby. We placed towels on all the furniture before sitting on it and placed all of our belongings on tables and dressers so not to sit on the floors. We are here for 2 nights, staff are doing what they can and are going to deep clean the room today but I’m not sure it will improve much or be dry by the time we return this afternoon. Sofa beds typically aren’t great but the one in our room has past its life expectancy many years over.
Had a wonderful stay. Room was clean and spacious. I loved how eco friendly they are has full size toiletries instead of mini sizes. I loved how they have soft and firm options pillow. Staff were amazing and polite especially Iren B. She made sure our stay was memorable. I highly recommend this holidays inn location. Will for sure come back. :
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone based on my experience here. There is an industrial train track directly behind the hotel, at night it passes every 1-2hrs and is incredibly loud even shaking the bed. This isn’t the hotels fault, but when I asked to switch to a different room I was met with an indifferent attitude by the front desk. They didn’t have space which I understood, but their attitude was dismissive and uncaring. Rooms are very dated and smell musty, my desk chair was ripped and came back to my room to “fresh” sheets which included a nice stain on the pillow. Wifi is spotty, works and then doesn’t. Good luck getting any sleep or work done in this place.
I operate a Photo Booth company and have been hired by a bride and groom that are getting married at this location next weekend so I went to check out the event space. Paula was absolutely wonderful so helpful so accommodating and had more than enough space for the photo booth I couldn’t be more pleased, thank you so much. I look forward to showing you pictures.
When I walked into the lobby just after 3:00pm I was surprised to see no line up at the front desk for that time of day. The lobby area was nicely decorated with Christmas trees and had nice décor. The service from staff was fine and they accommodated my preference for a room location.nnWhen I walked inside my room I noticed the carpet right away. Most hotels have renovated to wooden floors except this Holiday Inn. Old carpets that absorb food and beverage spills are unsanitary. The room was quite small for a standard two queen size beds, other Holiday Inn's have more space. The furniture is outdated and old. I noticed chipped chairs and a tear in one of the curtains. The curtains need to be replaced, or at least professionally cleaned.nnThe big TV was nice and having a shower facility without a tub was nice. The heating and air conditioning was excellent. I had called for maintenance to come and unclog the bathroom sink drain from slow drainage and sure enough it had hair build-up.nnThis hotel is one of the oldest in south Edmonton for Calgary Trail/Gateway Blvd area. All the hotels along this strip are aging and will require renovations and upgrades. I probably won't choose this Holiday Inn again because I don't like carpet and small rooms.
