Extremely disappointing experience. The price may look attractive, but the amenities make this hotel not worth it. The pool and hot tub area are essentially unusable due to an excessively loud ventilation system. The noise level is unbearable, easily over 80 dB, and causes headaches within minutes. It is impossible to relax in the hot tub, enjoy the pool, or use the nearby workout area. The constant mechanical noise makes the entire space uncomfortable and frustrating.nnWe raised this issue with staff and were told that nothing could be done, which is unacceptable given how severe the problem is. A loud, poorly maintained ventilation system that clearly needs servicing or lubrication should not render core amenities unusable.nnIf you are booking this hotel specifically for the pool, hot tub, or fitness area, avoid it until this issue is properly addressed. Management needs to treat this as an urgent maintenance and guest experience problem.
The conference center and Monsoon bar are nice. My room was clean but dated. I tried ear plugs but the trains passing by are loud. Sounds like a broken washing machine in the next room. They pass by a lot. Apparently you can request a quieter room on the west side. The staff during my stay were good and I'm sure they hate train noise complaints! Just be aware before you book. West is Best.
Amazing place, and amazing staff. If you like trains but want to have a good night sleep, you'll have to use the ear plugs that they provide as courtesy, as there are train tracks at the back side of the hotel.nOther thn that, great service.
Had a recent stay here for 3 nights! We drove for 4 hours from our hometown to this location to check in. Had a late check in for our reservation of 4 PM and the room was not ready and they made us wait in the lobby for an hour while the people that didn’t have any reservations got a room before us.nnThey upgraded our room from a queen to a king sized bed which was nice but the receptionist handling us did not even explain anything about our stay like when breakfast starts and they gave us a breakfast coupon for the complimentary breakfast that is only valid for one day, we went to the reception again in the morning and they gave us the proper amount of coupons. It was a major inconvenience to keep going to the reception. Train your staff better and to explain better about the stay.
Came to town for our Mother who was passing away. We were there on a special bereavement rate, which made everything so much easier, as it kept getting extended. Everyone was wonderful and understanding. Special shoutout to Yvette at the front desk who showed empathy and was ready to accommodate us in every way. Thank you to everyone at Holiday Inn Edmonton, and Ricky's Restaurant attached for making us very comfortable and keeping us fed during this difficult time. God Bless you all!
