Absolutely delicious!! This is a great restaurant for anyone looking to sit down meal with friends or family. The environment is fast paced but the seating helps to make you feel like your in your own bubble. The service is great, the wait staff is extremely friendly, and you usually have multiple people checking to make sure you have everything you need. The wait can take a long time depending on when you arrive and they don’t take evening or weekend reservations so plan to spend anywhere from 1-3 hours here. The food is amazing and there are so many choices for just about everyone. I would recommend the BBQ dinner for anyone who likes options and enjoys a bigger dinner. The grilled cheese and Saucy Southerner are also great options for a sandwich that will fill you up. Whatever you do make sure you leave room for ice cream as they have an extensive dessert menu with something for everyone. The inside is wonderfully decorated and they have a large screen playing cartoon to keep your little ones busy. Overall this is a great restaurant for an enjoyable sit down meal with family and friends. There is something for everyone!!

We always enjoy making the trip to Ames to eat at Hickory Park. Probably the best BBQ I've had. The pork ribs are great. I haven't had a bad meal there. The ice cream is good too. This place is good for college students, couples, families, friends and groups. There can be a wait during busy times. It's a large restaurant, so that helps. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone who likes smoked meat and BBQ!

The BBQ brisket is good but in a mass produced kind of way. The facility is large and always busy. Nicely decorated but it can be a little dark inside. It’s rather fast paced with the staff zooming in and zooming out, not what I’d consider a relaxing environment. But the food that I’ve had there was pretty good and the portions are large. I recommend trying it for a quick lunch

Terrible excuse for barbecue. I question if they actually smoke any of the meat. I got the combo dinner with sausage, chicken, ribs, turkey, and brisket. Nothing had evidence of smoke on it other than the brisket. I think they might just put food coloring on top since it was almost a deep red instead of pink and was just a thin uniform line on the top. No smoke smell or flavor. Good service though. Maybe the burgers are better?

Absolutely delicious. Creative mix of burgers (some have guacamole or jalapenos). Large portions. Kid options. Good prices. A great place for a family meal. Large dessert selection, including shakes & malts! Only a few vegetarian options. Typically noisy so not great for conversations.
