Grandpa Noodle Gallery

I really enjoyed Grandpa Noodle Gallery on our first trip there tonight. As a picky eater, I really loved the build your own option. I was able to get exactly what I wanted. The ingredients were extremely fresh, the noodles were tasty, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was really good. Another thing that I liked is that everything seemed very clean. My husband got the beef ramen and my Mom got the build your own option. We all thought our meals were great. We will definitely eat there again.

It was a little empty when we went but I had been meaning to try this place. It’s still new so it made sense that it was empty. Food was soooooooo good. And well plated. I did a create your own bowl. Service was fast also. I would definitely recommend

Dinner features very Slim Portions! My dinner meal of Chicken & Rice with Broccoli, this portion all fit in an 10oz.cup-literally! It featured plenty of Chicken about 20 chunks but only 5 small thumbnail size pieces of broccoli(I made the mistake of eating two together!) Will not return. Would suggest even the franchise, "Lucky Bamboo" in Ankeny, well worth the trip as it is hard to find good Asian food in Ames.

I had the Shanxi soup & spring rolls today. The food was amazing. I appreciate the extra winter time Vitamin D I soaked up via the numerous large windows. My server (Katie) was attentive & wonderful. I would recommend Grandpa Noodle Gallery to everyone in Ames & the surrounding areas.

When I was told we were going to be going here I initially expected it to be more of a comfort style noodle restaurant, and not a traditional Asian style restaurant. I was very excited when I realized that it was. The location is very clean, and open. I enjoyed that I was able to look out the windows on three sides, and watch the kitchen working on the third. We ordered lettuces wraps as an appetizer and they were very good. For our main course I got the Super Bowl, my husband got one that I can not remember the name of but it was spicy, and his mother got the sesame bowl. All of our food tasted really clean, but it was really simple too. My super bowl was lacking flavors, and the other two bowls were really dry. We all three had the spaghetti noodles which I believe may be part of what we didn't like. Although the spaghetti noodles were really good I think these dishes would have been better with a lighter noodle.
