Hardy's Bar & Grill

This is currently the only place in Elkhart that you can get food after 10pm. The Kitchen is open late, normally until midnight. I have always felt safe and welcome at this downtown staple and would recommend to anyone looking to grab a bite to eat or have a drink. This bar has a ton of regulars, but you will also find the theater crowd here before and after Lerner shows, guests from Hotel Elkhart often walk the short block to Hardy's, the crowd is always eclectic. Hardy’s, 523 and Five Star are basically a triangle in the same block and it is a great place to bar hop to. In fact you will normally find the wait staff and even the owners of the other restaurants, bars and Main Street establishments there after their shifts end. Hardy’s is the best late night place in Elkhart. And one of the only places to serve food late. The food at Hardy’s is good. My favorite part are the pool tournaments every Wednesday and Sunday night. I am impressed how Hardy’s is continuous growing and evolving.

Great local bar with awesome bartenders ! ... the daily lunch specials are fantastic especially the chilli ! ... its the best in town. Since I started working in Elkhart and found this gem of a place it's the only place I go now ... Highly recommended if you like hometown bars with great food you must stop in and give it a try.

Cold drinks, decent bartender, but music is entirely too loud and my husband is a musician so that is hard to do and drinks are overpriced. Atmosphere is that of downtown Elkhart at night... Seedy.

While the bartender was nice, the gentleman who is apparently the bouncer is rude. I had already been there, had three beverages, and then was told I couldn't have my laptop bag and was told to immediately leave. There's a way to state policy, and there is a way to be rude about it. Apparently individuals who take their work home in the form only a laptop bag are not welcome, and in fact are treated in a hostile manner. But it could have been just my skin color because he didn't treat anyone else like that. Just the minority.

Best bacon double cheeseburger I've had in a LONG TIME! The owner and staff are really cool people. They were even nice enough to set up a amp and mic and let me bring my guitar in for an impromptu open mic/acoustic show.

I've had a blast the last couple times I have been here. The bartenders are super friendly and it's a laid back atmosphere, clean and there is always security at the front door. They have pool tables and a juke box. The crowd here is unique, not the stuck up type, very friendly crowd, sometimes a little on the rougher side but eh, there is a variety that comes in here. Great, fun and chill place to hang out, have fun and meet people.

Nice, small bar had karaoke on Monday nights, good mixed drink. Good for older individuals..

Always a wonderful experience! Kit was there tonight and she made sure we were happy with everything we ordered-- food as well as the drinks she made our group. They ran out of one of the ingredients to my drink unfortunately, but Kit helped me find a great substitute!
