Hampton Inn by Hilton Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada

Our stay was what we expected as a result of our research and brand. The hotel was clean and quiet. The staff were friendly and approachable. The continental breakfast was actually more than I expected. I am not a breakfast person, but found more than a lion's share to eat. The rooms were clean and fully stocked with a great view from the third floor. Thank you.nI'd like to take a moment to thank the front desk bookings. Our trip was interrupted by unforeseen vehicle issues. After contacting the front desk, they were more than accommodating, and provisioned our booking for two nights, one full day beyond our original booking. Customer service at its best.

No microwaves in the rooms. You have no control over the temperature in your room. I asked front desk and she tried coming up and changing the thermastat in my room but that still didn't change anything, it only blew cold air. The windows don't open. The bed was doable, but not great, it was on the softer side with minimal firmness.nService was great, I thought the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms and hotel were clean.nI will not stay here again I would rather drive further and stay at the Super 8s in Sudbury or Sault Ste Marie over this place. At least Super 8 has comfortable beds, microwaves in the rooms, and thermostat control.

After reading the other reviews, I would have to agree! This is the most frustrating and terrible service I have ever received at a hotel. From booking the room, to calling about check in, to actual check in - it was terrible. When I asked if it was possible to check in early, I was told to call back repeatedly instead of the more customer friendly option: calling me when a room became available. I even suggested that option and was told no. Just keep calling back. The staff are grumpy and unfriendly. Checking in was an unnecessary hassle at 1am. The elevator didn’t work, so we used the stairs to the 3rd floor at 1am. The shower head was gross, and I was surprised that a Hilton was so mediocre. Breakfast was not great - missing many items. They didn’t replenish them either while we were eating. No hash browns, no sausage, barely any eggs and two bagels left. Do not waste your money on this hotel. They simply don’t care about service or their guests. I felt like I was inconveniencing them.

Overall, it was a good experience. The staff are friendly. The hotel does require a little bit of TLC.nGood experience and really the only hotel in town.nThe location is pretty good, and breakfasts are not bad either.

Terrible staff, all front desk staff are grouchy they have to do their job. Wifi cuts out all the time. Third floor elevator doesn’t work 90% of the time. No microwave in room or freezer in mini fridge. Breakfast is mediocre at best.nnNot worker friendly and will not try and accommodate any request.nnKicked me out of the hotel and tried to issue me a smoking in room fine because my room smelt like weed. Tried to issue a fine because they thought I took the coffee maker and claimed they look in every area of the room and insisted that the cleaners looked everywhere. Once I was contacted and asked about the coffee maker I told them it’s in the drawer beside the fridge meaning the cleaning crew is lying to the front desk about what happened or the front desk is making false claims. Would not recommend staying here to anyone.
