Not the best facility, but the resting area is sufficient. The bus is not that comfortable for long hulls, however I have not encounter any major problems.
I never had issues with Greyhound until today. I was supposed to take a bus from Edmonton to Calgary at 1:25. I arrived a few minutes prior and rushed to the counter to ask if it left. The man behind the desk said no. I didn't have a ticket, but I bought it, so I gave him the order number and my ID. He said that I bought it, but hadn't booked it. I spoke to someone on the phone a few days earlier to check if I had bought the ticket and they confirmed and said that I just need to give the clerk behind the desk the order number with my ID. When I was talking to the clerk today, he said all other trips are booked. It went on and then he talked to his coworker who said that he just doesn't have enough paper to print the ticket. I was relieved, and got my ticket. I went to sit down and was under the impression the bus was late since I was told it hadn't left when I asked. Half an hour went by, I asked again and he said it hadn't, while his coworker said it left at 1:30 when I was talking to them at the counter, but no one told me. I asked three times. Anyway, got a free ticket for 8:25pm. As I arrive at the depot, I find it locked. I will mention it is -25 outside and since it's the holidays, everything is closed. I didn't drive here. Fortunately, I found a game store across the street and they were kind enough to let me wait here. The customer service is ridiculous, the employees are oblivious and not helpful, and it is dangerous to leave the passengers waiting outside the depot in this temperature. Next time I am taking Red Arrow. The bus arrived half an hour late and with the bus depot being locked I had to wait half an hour in -25 and now I have frostbite. No compensation, nothing.
Today is June 27. I made to the office just before it's closed. The staff a very nice gentleman was very patient and accepted my package, stayed after hours to finished all the paperwork needed. My package was urgent. I really appreciated he took the time and get all done. Will use your service again for sure! Linda
About a year and a half ago we wanted to ship something to my sister in Vancouver. We tried several different places and were not satisfied with their responses - they were either far too expensive for what we wanted to ship or they said the insurance didn't cover the items or they had no way of packing the stuff properly. We ended up coming to this location and we had the things packed up and ready to ship and everything was paid for within 15 minutes of our arrival - no problems, no hassles, nothing. The staff was very friendly and efficient about the whole thing. We've been coming here to ship most of our items since.
This bus depot closes early and opens late. Staff are usually nice though. Too sad Greyhound will end their service by end of October 2018. A bad news for both passengers and staff. Govs need to let new service provider fill the gap quickly for the sake of passengers and staff.
The interactions with employees here I have had have all been positive, and the place is easy to reach from a major road. The parking is very limited but usually empty because most people who drive here are just getting dropped off. It's convenient to come here instead of the north stop if the bus I'm catching stops at both places because it'll arrive at this station about 25 minutes later than the original ticket said if the bus is going south of course, giving me some extra time. But the bus will be pretty full so don't hope for a great seat. There's a vending machine in this stop that purports to have healthy snacks but it's the same junk food in every other vending machine.
Arrived on a Sunday and were greeted by a sign that said the location is only staffed on Sunday for PACKAGE DELIVERY and the staff are UNABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS RELATED TO ANYTHING ELSE. We approached the desk simply wanting to ask if we were at the correct location to be picked up by a Greyhound Bus for passengers to be taken to Calgary. Before we could even get to the desk, the lady behind was extremely rude and said "If you already have your boarding pass I can't help you because I can't print so just go wait outside". And that was it. The several people behind me also looked shocked and all went outside. I'm stubborn so I insisted she tell me if I was at the correct station as shown on my ticket. She refused to look at it and refused to help. For all I knew, this could've been a courier location ONLY and not serviced passengers. Nonetheless, I waited, and a bus arrived 15 minutes late. The driver was INCREDIBLY PLEASANT and VERY HELPFUL. So this review is not for greyhound in general, the driver was amazing and had an awesome personality, extremely polite. The station itself however was poorly maintained, no parking, and AWFUL, USELESS STAFF.
I normally never write reviews, especially complaints, but this experience was downright ridiculous, it had to be shared. I had a greyhound bus booked for 1:25AM, with instructions upon booking to board the bus an hour early. So, I arrive at the station around 12:30AM and 1 there was no bus, 2 the station was locked with no personnel, and 3 the bus didn't arrive until 2:30AM, leaving myself and others waiting outside in -30 degree weather for 2 hours. Calling customer service only yielded a bunch of 'sorry's' with no proper action e.g., malfunctioning tracking system, so no info on the bus' whereabouts. Further, there were many delays on the road, so it actually took 8 hours to get from Edmonton to Calgary when it should have taken 5 hours, according to schedule, causing some of us to miss or be late to meetings. Of note and surprise, customer service is stubborn to even give a refund after all of this - so, all in all, the utmost unprofessional service and will never use again.
I'm one of those people who get carsick no matter what you do. Luckily for me, the greyhound experience did not give me motion sickness. What a relief. Also the driver was very friendly and helpful. The seats were comfortable and the bus offered wifi. Can't really ask for more. I also had a bit of leg room for myself as well. It was an enjoyable trip with Greyhound.
The absolute worst customer service I have ever received, and outright theft. Never ever use Greyhound to ship anything. My items never arrived at their destination and after 6 hours on the phone I was just given the run around between countless numbers to call, all of which told me to call other numbers for assistance. I was never even given the basic insurance value on my items and never had my lost item claim forms so much as responded to. Devastated to lose most of the few possessions I own without any interest or concern from those responsible. Greyhound does not deserve a cent of your money and I'm ashamed to have ever considering giving any to them. Absolutely go with someone else and you'll thank yourself later.
