GM Soapstone is Ontario's first provider of soapstone counters and sinks. Located in St. Catharines, Ontario, we import our soapstone from Brazil and India for its superior quality and supply it to our customers across Ontario in the form of beautiful custom soapstone countertops and sinks for kitchens or bathrooms. Soapstone as a kitchen or bathroom material holds unique and beautiful properties, like artistic patterns, rich colours, strong durability, and ease of maintenance.

I can’t say enough great things about the work Great Mountain Soapstone did on our kitchen renovation. They were very prompt, their work was flawless and they were a pleasure to work with too. Their shop has lots of amazing soapstone slabs to choose from, and they took the time to very patiently show us how each of them would look when finished. We were so happy with the way the counters turned out – the texture is gorgeous and they have a lovely, warm feel to the touch – that we ended up also having them install soapstone in our outdoor bar area.
I've had the opportunity to work with Great Mountain Soapstone through our company a couple of times and our experience has always been fantastic! Their communication is excellent and their delivery is timely. Soapstone counters are a unique product and through Great Mountain they're installed by a satisfyingly professional team!
My husband and I move at glacial pace when it comes to home improvements. We only want to do things once and we want it to be good value. Soapstone piqued our interest when we learned that it is used in chemistry labs because it is inert to reaction ie it will last forever. We have had our counter from Great Mountain Soapstone for 2 years now. Soapstone also happens to be beautiful, smooth to the touch and lends a modern yet organic look. It singlehandedly classes up our thrifty and eclectic home. The quality of the service at great mountain soapstone was as good as the product they sell. Cameron told us everything we needed to know, with out ever being pushy or over-selling. We even got to pick out our own slab of stone. The technician who came to our house was professional and an expert at his craft. There is not a seam or angle that isn't perfect. The Washboard hatching at the sink is THE tool for the job. I would recommend Great Mountain Soapstone to everyone. We probably won't need them again because this counter will last longer that we will ; -Kris

Working with great mountain soapstone was an amazing experience! I found myself reaching out to them after having a tough time with a previous soapstone company. I’m not a contractor; just a gal with grand visions! I don’t speak contractor and Cameron never once made me feel stupid or unheard. He always made sure we were on the same page and all his crew were on board too. I really wish dealing with all contractors was such a smooth experience! Install was quick 2 weeks from time of order! and everyone made sure my house stayed as neat, tidy and undamaged as possible. Wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to Cameron for future projects!

Amazing experience with Great Mountain Soapstone, if you are wavering on if soapstone is right for you, Stop searching you found the right place! This natural stone is stunning and makes for a wow factor in your kitchen. They are wonderful to deal with, prompt with getting back to us, any questions were answered kind and patient with all my questions Value is exceptional for what you will receive, I promise you will not be disappointed. The staff arrives right on time and had them in within a few hours, waxed and care information told that was easy to follow, and given supplies….Voila it was ready to enjoy!! If you are looking for exceptional customer service, product, value and a stunning classic look, give them a call and find out for yourselves how great your experience will be too. Shout out to Cameron for a great job well done!
The customer service at Great Mountain Soapstone is second to none. Despite only buying remnant pieces of soapstone and a pre-made sink, Roy and Cameron gave us the same standard of service you would expect if ordering a full custom kitchen. I highly recommend them!
Excellent customer service from Cameron and everyone else I talked to despite it only being a very small one-off order a soapstone slab cut to size for use as a custom plinth in a home hifi system. It looks great and was well finished. Pricing was very reasonable. Really good impression of this business overall
Great Moutain Soapstone was great to work with, and the product now three years later is a decision I would not change. I chose the wildest veining they had at the time...I was looking for drama in a big kitchen. Got it! Everyone loves it, and it suits this Muskoka cottage perfectly. The people were wonderful to work with, and after 3 years, I remember bad suppliers and over priced products...this was neither. Caveats of soapstone which has nothing to do with the company: don’t let a party bounce quarters into cups, soapstone chips, which I accept as patina...you might not. I have a soapstone farm sink, and corners are difficult to keep clean...I wouldn’t do that again. Soapstone is metallic enough to hold magnets weakly, and seems to occasionally effect cell phone signals who knew. Finally, if you change your kitchen years from now, you will have some difficulty matching, in some cases but I knew that.
