Unlike the soulless big box warehouses, this is a real hardware where friendly, knowledgeable staff actually ask you if they can help, take the time to give you tips, assist in finding the right product, and seem to genuinely enjoy their work and workplace. I know -- occasionally you have to wander around Home Depot searching for a piece of lumber or particular trim item you can't find elsewhere, but whenever possible, I head to the Scott Street HH -- I know I'll feel welcome, find expert advice, and be able to get everything from ironing boards and ladders to stains and hinges.

It's a little like stepping back in time, the staff are wonderfully friendly and charming.

This is the best hardware store in the region hands down. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. They always think outside the box to help you out even when you're doing obscure projects. The discount section in the back is always worth checking out as well
