GoodLife Fitness Centres

Before joining Goodlife (in general), be aware that they engage in morally reprehensible business practices. For example, even if your contract is expired (meaning that you should be off the hook for their cancellation fees), they have a non-transparent policy that you must provide 30 days notice to cancel your membership. In practice, this means many members are going to be paying for a minimum of one extra month of service. Thus, Goodlife is pocketing a lot of free money from their customers; in my case I am not even able to use the extra month of service I paid for because they took my card. Isn't there a word for getting charged for a service that you are unable to use--I believe it might start with a 't'? With that said, even if I still could use the service for the extra month I paid for, I wouldn't be interested because the particular location I'm reviewing is an entirely sub-par facility that isn't even properly temperature regulated and run by mostly nice but increasingly incompetent staff. This includes the manager, who was not only entirely unapologetic when confronted with the absurdity of many of Goodlife's business practices, but also arrogant enough to badger me with personal questions and attempt to retain me with the weak threat of increased rates should I ever wish to rejoin. As someone who has taught business ethics at the undergraduate level, I think it's in Goodlife HQ's best interests to think a bit more carefully about stakeholder theory and corporate social responsibility.

Ok. So the gym itself isn't bad. Machines are ok. They just replaced all the Tredmils. Issue here is there is NO WIFI ( I have suggested to the manager but nothing ever came to it) and also in the summer you die of heat due to the big glass windows facing he sun. Changerooms are kinda smelly. Dirty carpet full of salt even now in spring. Staff is nice. I have no clue about the personal trainers, they seem nice though. If you like it not too busy, go in the early AM or late PM (8pm on). Place is not full of meat heads. A lot of diverse bodies. Nothing to be ashamed of to come workout. **Update** They finally have free WIFI.

Employees are more friendly than few years ago. It is not busu like other locations. I don't like no dropping weights ( it is gym !!! ) And at the mens sauna some guys shaving themselves which is disgusting !!!

Good location, friendly staff, easy to keep and maintain my fitness goals here.

This location is not very busy which is great. However, there are limited group fitness classes offered here. Closes too early on weekends. Too hot in the summer (too much sunlight because of the huge windows). Situated in an extremely sketchy area. Not the best GoodLife I've been to, but better than nothing.
