Been going for years. Staff is helpful and will try their best to order in something if they don't have it (at least with comics; haven't asked about books). Being a Used Book store, book selection is random obviously but condition/rarity- price ratio is very reasonable.

They may have a good selection and a wide variety of product but definitely not the best people to deal with. I find their pricing system to be quite skewed and more on the expensive side for a used book store. I have been in a few times and their rapport is not the most welcoming, often finding them annoyed when asked questions. Although I will say the store usually looks like there is a lot going on it could be chalked up busyness. I will say I was able to find the book I wanted, but was choosing between two different covers. I was shocked to find out the older more tattered written in version was more expensive than the copy that looked brand new. Their pricing is based off half of the cover cost which may make things easier but I disagree with based on the condition of some of the books in the store. If you are in a pinch or looking for a cheap read Gnu is sure to have what you want, but if you are looking for a cozy place to find books like. This isn't where I would suggest to go.

I was like a kid in a candy store... though the store was a little cluttered and unorganized in the books section, with some sections seeming to stop and start in odd places. This, however, made it all the more exciting when you did find something you were interested in. I got 8 books for about 50 bucks and I was still finding more stuff that I would like to get; nothing can be better than this! The comic section looked much more organized, but I was there for the novels. If you come here, make sure you have some time to thoroughly browse, but if you enjoy that kind of stuff like I do, this place is great!

Despite the reply from the owner to an earlier review, that particular woman is [in fact] incredibly rude. Before the store moved from Taunton Road, I ordered a few books and she wouldn't give me the time of day. Furthermore, she told me (eventually) that I would be called when they arrived. 4 months later, she calls me and says, "are you coming to pick up your books?" To which I replied honestly that I'd already purchased the books elsewhere because I was expecting them to show up before a 4 month period. To which she responded with a long sigh and an "okay bye" and hung up on me. I used to shop there exclusively but I've been going elsewhere since, considering I had been a kind, loyal customer for over 10 years despite other similar incidents.
