Stay away! Worst vet ever! I came here for years with my two cats. They diagnosed one of my cats with allergies for years. After visiting another vet, I found out my cat never had allergies but rather a skin fungus that could be transferred to humans!! To top it off, I lost one of my cats to a heart attack. I week later, I brought in my second cat for a check up to ease my mind and ensure nothing was wrong with him. 3 people were at the reception desk and not one greeted me for 5 minutes and I was alone in the place! When they finally greeted me, they put me in a room for over 25 minutes. When the vet finally showed up, I said that the wait was long and he responded :"If you don't like it, you can leave". So I did and will never step foot again in this establishment.

The secretaries and the vet seem to lack interpersonal skills; no smiles - all business. My dog was there for her vaccines and I couldn't assist to this???? At my previous vet, I was there for all her vaccines, her nail clippings and her general check up. Makes you wonder what they have to hide. I will not be going back there again...even if some reviews claim that their prices are reasonable. I prefer driving out of the city and having a compassionate doctor for my animal.

Dr.McLaren and Dr.Scarlett are both fantastic. Extremely patient and informative. They provide excellent care. I trust them with both my cats and dogs and never feel pressured. Reception staff is always warm and welcoming.

This is not my main vet. I came in for an urgent issue with my dog. The front staff was very professional and answered all of my many questions. I was told in advance what procedures would take place and how much they would cost. This is very important to me, because I like to be aware of what I am paying for if I need to make a financial decision for/against the treatment or if I need to ask for alternatives for financial reasons. The final bill was fair. The visit and treatment were priced as per other Ottawa vets' pricing. My dog was not behaving normally during the visit. I assume she was in discomfort/pain. The front staff helped us to manage her/reduce her stress and to not bother the other customers and their pets. My dog was whining, pacing, and being reactive to other pets, so I really appreciated the help. The front staff were very sympathetic to her behaviour and kind with us. I had such a good experience, I am considering switching to this hospital as my main vet.

Gloucester Veterinary Hospital has been looking after our four legged family members for twenty years. Dr. Scarlett and his staff are unique - unlike other vets, they do not set off a pet's radar as someone to fear. Aa well they do not treat their patients as opportunities to upsell medicines and procedures - they treat them like their own family members and give sound practical advice.
