Gilaneh Restaurant

Fun experience in a unique atmosphere. We went with some Iranian friends who did all the ordering and explained all the dishes to us. There is also a lot to look at in the restaurant so the atmosphere is fabulous. They did say it was a little pricier, but you can't compare prices it to back in Iran. It is a nice restaurant as well, so you will pay more. The meal was well presented and very good. Our friends said that it was good as well and tasted authentic. The staff were friendly and the service was good. Located upstairs. Paid parking is validated by the restaurant.

Lovely meal. Excellent dim sum. Exceptionally friendly and polite staff. All of the food was delicious and fresh. The sauces were just right. Thanks for a lovely evening. Gilaneh restaurant is one of the best Persian restaurants in Toronto that you can invite your friends there without having any concerns. The food quality is really good and waiters are really responsible. The only reason I choose 3 star for my review is that we scanned digital menu and when we asked to add some items to our order, they mentioned the menu prices increased and the QR code menu is not updated yet. So, as a customer I believe we need a visibility to our order’s prices and we decide based on that. It was not easy to accept it for us and it is really easy to update menus prices for restaurants. In general, it is a good place to start the journey of trying Persian food…

Heard so much about the place so hype was really high. Atmosphere was amazing! Nicely done. Service was good but was not the best. Waitresses were very nice and polite but not all of worked as hard or caring as others. The biggest downfall was the food which had the most hype for us. Food was not cold but wasnt hot at all. It looked nicely presented and well cooked but that was about it. Tasteless and as plain as it could get. Ordered special chicken and kebab but there was nothing special about it. Specially the chicken. It looked like a normal plain tasteless chicken with a lot of bones. At very least the special kebab had a different look.

The restaurant is well decorated from the entrance and whole dining area. Appetizer Bread is freshly baked in the restaurant and served. Ordering Persian yogurt for bread is highly Recommended. Food was great, but waitress service was even greater!!

Bad experience! I live overseas. During the pandemic, i was sending food to my family via UberEats here in Toronto and i chanced upon this Mediterranean restaurant. They loved the food and they would always request to order here. Many many times i ordered for them. Today, i had a chance to visit Gilaneh and i was so excited. We chose the table by the glass window, in a matter of seconds this girl approached us and in an annoyed-upset tone she told us we chose the table for 6 and there’s just 3 of us… keeping the 3 cutlery sets. I looked at these two gentlemen dining comfortably in the same 6-seat table with all their stuff occupying the chairs. IT WAS THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE DAY - NOT TO MENTION WE JUST CAME FROM A FUNERAL. Everything else was ruined because of her. She does not deserve to work here with this kind of attitude

We were told that this is the premier place for Persian cuisine years ago, and we keep coming back because they were all right! The staff are wonderfully polite and kind! We really enjoy their lamb dishes, along with their eggplant and stews. Make sure to ask for tahdeeg!

It was a great experience. We were a large group of around 14 ppl and each had ordered a separate item. The dishes ordered were Kobideh Kabob Beef, Lamb Chops, Lamb Shanks, Chicken Breast Kabob, drinks including pop and yogurt drink. All of the dishes were freshly prepared and were delicious in taste and generous portions. The service was great and we really had good time. Would definitely recommend this place.

Décoration is really nice showcasing structures from Persepolis. Quality of food is also very nice. I went to this restaurant many times and generally like it. Only remark is that portions are relatively small. Very last time I went, we had bademjan kabob for starters, shirazi salad, baghali polo with lamb shank and barg kabob. Also, they bring a freshly homemade naan which absolutely delicious to start with it.

Fabulous decor and scrumptious food, though its location is somewhat out there .. and the coming out of the parking lot requires a gated/ticketed experience needing patience. Food is fantastic, the bread is made right in front of you, if you wish to experience it and the service is quick and excellent.
