This vet clinic is an amazing place to get care for your pets and the staff is excellent for helping you and pets feel comfortable. We take our 3 feathered kids to get nails,beaks,wings looked after. The Doc is extremely sensitive and great at his job of making you feel that's pets are getting the best care possible. Dr. Paul and his 2 assistants are amazing! They were so comforting when my bird Lulu passed. They sent me a sympathy card which meant a lot to me. They have treated bubba and Coco as well, I am so grateful to have Dr. Paul as my veterinary. The staff there is also amazing very friendly and are always welcoming with a warm smile. Thank you very much for everything it means a lot to us!!

I recently had to put my 13 year old rabbit to sleep she was ill. I was in need of a vet because she was failing. They took me right away and Dr. PAUL was so amazing.They truly care and show compassion and professionalism in what they do. After we came home we received a beautiful sympathy card in the mail which touched our hearts. If you love your pet take them there you will be amazed best veterinarian clinic . .

Amazing experience! I’ve had dogs for 30 years and vets to go along with them and I can say this was the most positive interaction I’ve had. Dr. Barb sat down and had a conversation with me before even working with the dog. It was like visiting a friend who took an interest in things, rather than just rushing through the appointment. The entire team we’re fantastic. I’m happy to drive from Kingston to Gananoque for this kind of service.

Been using these guys for years now. Always incredibly friendly and loving to my dog. She underwent a major knee surgery and Dr Barb and Dr Paul and all the staff have been wonderful at following up and taking the best care of her. Thanks Gan Vet team

I called this morning about my cat Winston. I noticed that he was limping. I noticed a nail pressing into his pad. They took me same day. The young girl was great at explaining everything.She was very friendly and took excellent care of Winston. And to top it off no charge for the nail trim. Thanks again.

Dr.Paul and Dr.Barb are very helpful and to the point. They care for the animals in their care. Offer reasonable treatment options. Fees are reasonable. Even living outside of the town it’s worth the drive for veterinary care .

“If you want something done, it isn’t free”- Final words spoken to me by office staff at this veterinary clinic right before she hung up. How did we get here? Let’s rewind to the beginning. We have 5 dogs and have been patients at Gananoque Vet Clinic for 7 years. We have spent many thousands of dollars on office visits, vaccinations, dental cleanings & extractions, surgical procedures, medications, flea/tick/heartworm prevention meds, specialty dog foods etc... We have always had a great experience with the staff and vets, Dr. Paul & Barb O’Neil. We have always followed their recommended treatment plans, surgeries and product recommendations and been conscious of the pricing for their services, products and procedures and have never complained, even though we knew we were paying premium prices, we wanted the best care for our pets and wanted to have an established vet relationship in case our dogs ever had any serious medical or emergency issues. On our latest visit we brought in two of our dogs having issues, one needed medications and a minor surgical procedure scheduled and the other needed to schedule a dental cleaning and extractions. With medications and some specialty food this was around a $500 visit, with estimates for approximately $2500+ in surgical procedures which were scheduled. A few days later, our dog was responding well to the medications that Dr. O’Neil prescribed and filled at the clinic, and we had paid $30 for a 30 day supply. Since she was responding well, we decided to keep her on the medication for a longer period and decided to ask for a prescription for a 3 month supply. A 3 month supply of the medication from Wal-Mart was $30 Same price paid for only 30 day supply at clinic. I called Gananoque Vet Clinic to have them fax in a prescription to a Wal-Mart Pharmacy. After several attempts, someone finally answered the phone and asked if I could hold. 10 mins later, she returned to the phone. The staff asked me if I had the fax number for the pharmacy, which of course I did not, and there was no offer to look it up. So I advised that I would contact the pharmacy and get the fax number and call them back. So after 20 minutes waiting for the pharmacy to answer their phone, I got the fax number and called Gan Vet Clinic back. I provided the number to her and she said she would fax in the prescription and call me back once it had been completed. So far, so good. Then after an hour or so I get an emailed invoice from the clinic for a $30 “Prescription writing fee”. I had never heard of this before and no one explained that there was to be a fee. Had this been disclosed when I asked about the prescription, I would have just advised “Never mind”. At about this same time the vet clinic called to advise that the prescription had been faxed into Wal-Mart. We inquired as to what the invoice for the prescription writing fee was all about and was advised that they neglected to tell us about it on 2 separate phone calls and that this was a fee charged if you don’t get your medications filled at the vet clinic. I was flabbergasted to say the least, I advised her that I was not going to pay the fee or pick up the prescription that the fee was usury to which she replied, see first sentence, and then rudely hung up the phone on me. This could have been resolved differently by the staff member, but after this interaction with staff and charging a punitive fee for not getting overpriced medications from the clinic, I have cancelled those $2500+ procedures and will be seeking to establish a relationship with another local vet. I hope that Dr. Paul & Dr. Barb realize that these types of fees and rude staff member are driving patients away.

Greed. They never saw a fee that they didn't want to charge. Always wanting to upsell the notions, potions, and lotions that they sell. Their fees for services are excessive. After spending several thousands of dollars, it is time for a change to a more reasonably priced Vet that cares more for animals than lining their pockets.

I can't thank Dr. Barb, Dr. Paul and their entire team at the Gananoque Vet enough for all the love and care they have given to our dogs over the years. Not only are the excellent veterinarians, but they are also genuinely kind and trustworthy people. It is worth the drive from out of town to go to this clinic. Highly recommended!!
