This Korean grocery store serves really good meals and has a variety of plants available for summer gardening. It was really convenient and I highly recommend visiting this store.
This review pertains to the freshly prepared offerings at the food court inside the York Mills Galleria Supermarket.nnIn contrast to the food court at Yonge and Steeles, where patrons place orders at individual counters, the Galleria food court operates with a more streamlined system. Orders are placed via two self-serve kiosks on the periphery, and the food is collected from three designated stations. During our visit, we ordered the Dahmi Seafood Udon, Jajangmyeon Black Bean Noodles, and Bulgogi Bibimbap. The wait time for our meal was approximately 15 minutes.nnThe cuisine is both authentic and freshly prepared, with generous portions that justify the slightly elevated yet still reasonable prices. The broth for the udon was aromatic, and the noodles themselves were delightfully chewy and fresh.nnThe menu features a variety of options, including fried chicken, taiyaki, street food, and bentos, all available in both freshly prepared and pre-cooked forms.nnAlthough the food court was not particularly crowded during our visit, the limited seating may pose a challenge during peak hours, potentially making it difficult to secure a table.nnOverall, this is a commendable option for casual, authentic Korean fare. The ambiance and food quality slightly surpass those at the Yonge and Steeles location, and the parking lot is notably more spacious and less chaotic, making it easier to find a spot during busier periods.
I needed to buy a few items on the New Year’s Day and nowhere else was open.nI googled the neighbourhood and found the Galleria supermarket York Mills, which was open on that day.nMaybe because the entrance is not on the street and is at the back of the building I’ve never seen it or noticed it.nIt was quite a big supermarket with a very good variety of groceries, fresh food, fish, and seafood, and Chinese items.nThey also had plants and flowers.nI could find everything I needed. It was a miracle on the New Year’s Day.
If you are trying to get into Asian cooking, Galleria Supermarket is a great place to start and later continue shopping with for all the staples you might need. From the moment you enter the store, you can tell it will be a positive experience. It’s well stocked, organized, and most importantly clean like no other. I've bought all the supplies I needed for bulgogi, miso soup, sea food, and other dishes. Their deserts go fast, so the earlier you show up, the better. And if you enjoy banana flavoured milk, you know where to go.
