Gabie's Boutique Dancewear & Gymnastics

This place is awesome and should have a much higher rating. My daughter is starting dance and needed a uniform and had this spot recommended. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by genuine friendliness and helpfulness. She asked what we were looking for and we have her the list. She brought us through the store making excellent recommendations. We then went on to the lady who helped us with shoes who was tremendously helpful. The cashier was also equally friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience from a people perspective. Only thing that stung a little was I was recommended a pair of shoes on clearance and she told us numerous times that they were ten bucks. Didn't notice with the other stuff being rung up at the cashier that they were actually 25, not 10. I'm not driving 40 mins back there for 15 bucks so I'm forced to just eat it. The place really is great and I'm sure this was just an accident. Edit: I got in touch with Gabies and they were fantastic about taking care of the billing error. All is resolved. This place is great.

Went with my 2 girls to pick up their first dance costume last Oct 28th. Showed them my list and staff also checked their own records since they have the girls dance school in their list, and together we confirmed the programs they are enrolled to make sure we are purchasing the right uniforms. Went back today Oct 28th to exchange one of the leotards since they gave me the wrong colour but unfortunately i already took off the tag but left it in the bag with the receipt. Was told that they cant do any exchange until they can talk to their manager on Monday. Very disappointed for the inconvenience and for wasting my time.

We had a horrible experience at Gabie's and we will not be returning. I sent my husband to pick a garment bag up and he got the wrong size. He misplaced the bill but when I returned the bag, it had the tags on it and I provided my credit card statement. I asked for an exchange for a new bag. The owner offered me 50 percent of the price of the bag. I explained how ridiculous this was since I provided proof of the date and amount of purchase but they refused. The bag was $25 and it was less than two weeks later. They were rude and condescending. I have two daughters in competitive dance and they lost hundreds of dollars in future revenue. They need to reconsider how they treat customers. Since then, I have found a store called Sequins Plus in Oshawa. I couldn't believe that the same product (a crop top) that was 40 dollars at Gaby's sells for 17.99 at Sequins. It is worth the drive if you have a few things you need to pick up. This is the first review I have ever written but I thought it was important. Parents of dancers spend hundreds of dollars on dance supplies each year and you want your money going to reputable businesses.

We purchased everything my daughter needed for her first year of Jazz. When we got home we saw there was a hole in the seam of her leotard. I called Gabie's and they said no problem, and that they would exchange it. The only problem was that they were out of stock in the particular style we needed. They let us know a new shipment was coming in. They just weren't sure if it would be in time for her first class. They went on to say if they didn't receive it before her first class, that it was all right for her to wear it once since they thought it was more important that my daughter was dressed appropriately rather than her being upset. I thought that was amazing. That's customer service!

they never answer there phone and they said they closed at 7:00 so we drove all the way over there at 6:00 and they were closed
