Amazing quality of work. They have email notification service as well to notify when the order is ready. I liked that they didn't push repairs that weren't worth it. However, had a negative customer experience, and when brought it up to the owner, he didn't seem to care about the customer, just said that it must have been busy and that's why their service was worse. I prefer to go to places that value my business more.

There is no indicator for a horrid experience!!! This should be negative 5 stars!!! I was more than disappointed and offended when I took my expensive leather boots to "Art of Shoe Repair" in Newmarket. This was in December, 2017, just before Christmas. It was shocking to be informed , by the owner, that I should give him an excessive amount of "up-front" payment before he would repair my boots! When I asked him to explain how he intended to make the repair he responded in a very rude manner. When I said that I wanted to see the finished job before paying, he became irate! He displayed an absolutely unacceptable level of behaviour! I left this shop, with my boots, and will never return!

The owner says my review is fake. I guess he doesn't care about losing customers. My original review wasn't specific enough so it was revised to jog his memory. The fact that he is even rude in his replies proves my experience and brings his rudeness to light for new customers. I was in this store Sat Sept 16 at 10:30 am with my husband. I have no affiliation with any other shoe store. Was just happy to receive good, knowledgeable service elsewhere. -- No customer service. Went to this store to inquire about stretching the calves of my boots. Was told it couldn't be done. He proceeded to tell me that my only option was a 6 inch long elastic down the side of my boot. When I started to ask questions about the quality of the elastic, look, etc he got really rude with me. He wasn't even going to measure until I asked him to. I left thankfully without leaving my expensive boots here. Searched google and drove to aurora to find a friendlier more knowledgeable shoe repair. They told me that they CAN stretch my boots because they have the right equipment.

Excellent service! Appreciate the email notice when the work is complete. A little pricey given the cost of most new boots and shoes these days!

I had a very pleasant experience with the owner, he added new heels and soles to my wingtip boots, added a lift to by oxfords and did a wonderful job on both. The price is fair, the service is excellent and the owner is very knowledgeable; he is a second generation cobbler and his commitment to his craft truly shows. I am going to take a pair of handmade shoes to him next because I was so satisfied with his work :)
