FreshCo.

Good location, but check the packages: expiry date on turkey burgers is sometimes on the inside packaging, hiding the fact that you're being sold expired meat. Lota of mislabeled produce provenance. This used to be a good place to shop, but not anymore. I'd give you zero stars, but the cashiers are great.

I stopped by this location this morning to pick up a few things that were on sale and I left with more than just great deals… I left smiling. Before I even reached the checkout, Zarina greeted me with a big smile and a warm “Good morning.” She was so welcoming, kind and genuinely friendly.nIt was such a wonderful way to start my day. Thank you, Zarina, for your amazing customer service, your warm spirit and your kindness. It truly made a difference and is very much appreciated!!!

I wanted to leave a quick note about employee named KHUSHI, who was working at the self-checkout area. She was incredibly helpful and attentive without being intrusive. When the machine had trouble scanning an item, KHUSHI came over immediately, sorted it out with a smile, and even showed me a quicker way to bag my groceries. It's rare to find someone at self- checkout who balances efficiency with genuine friendliness.

This FreshCo at McCowan and Ellesmere features standard items on the flyers for Southern Ontario. It is generally well-maintained. Note that there is plenty of construction for the new station that is replacing the former Scarborough RT station near the back of the store. The free parking lot for the store is at the front, not the paid city lot at the back.

The FreshCo location at McCowan and Ellesmere is a reliable and frequently busy discount grocery store that serves the surrounding residential area extremely well.nnWhat draws shoppers here is the promise of significant savings, and this FreshCo delivers, especially when taking advantage of their price-match policy and frequent flyer deals. It's the ideal spot for stocking up on household staples and essentials at a much lower cost than premium competitors. The store is typically well-managed, with a decent layout that makes it easy to find everything from dry goods to frozen items quickly.nnThe freshness of the produce can sometimes be a bit hit-or-miss, reflecting the nature of a high-volume discount grocer, so it’s always best to check items carefully. However, they consistently offer a good variety of international products catering to the diverse community in the area, which is a major bonus.nnA potential drawback is the long lines at checkout, especially during peak evenings and weekends, as they often don't staff all the registers, but this is a common trade-off for the deep discounts offered. Ultimately, if your priority is saving money and you don't mind a crowded aisle or a brief wait, this FreshCo is an invaluable and highly functional grocery option.
