Francois Frankie is one of those restaurants that might not be receiving the attention they deserve. Go there before they get a star and become expensive and difficult to get a reservation at! Because I think they are moving in that direction. The food was very nicely curated and was both delicious and well presented. I think they have a talented chef and their staff knows what they’re doing. They have a variety of nice cocktails and the bar is essentially a carousel that is rotating very slowly in the middle! I had a fantastic experience overall and will be going back for sure. 5/5 stars!
Service was very good and the ambience is also nice. I had the cauliflower risotto and greens salad, both large plates and good. Warning, the risotto has an impressive amount of butter and cheese And for dessert I ordered the raspberry roll which is really a warm pastry and didn’t like it much. Overall a nice meal.
Dined at the bar on Restaurant Week Lunch menu. Had the French Onion Soup-good, small portion of Salmon- nothing memorable and chocolate dessert-good. The restaurant was not very full and it seemed to take too long to get the salmon course. A few people sitting at the bar and asked if they could turn on the rotating bar, reply was “when it gets busier in a few hours”. Accessible rest area.
Just when I thought only China had cool, revolving restaurants, I discovered this unique venue that has a carousel themed bar that revolves 360° as you enjoy your food and drinks. The food was delicious! Definitely worth a visit. Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: Yes
The service was underwhelming. I had an 8pm reservation on a Friday and was told I needed to hurry up and order my food because the kitchen closes at 8:30p. I rushed through the menu so I can order in time, however it took forever for my dinner to arrive. When it did, the appetizer/soup was brought out at the same time as my entree, so of course by the time I was done with the soup my entree was cold. The whole experience just felt rushed and unpleasant especially for an 8pm reservation on a Friday night. In addition, I didn’t even get a dessert menu afterwards. The steak and sweet potatoes weren’t anything to write home about. The chicken and potatoes were pretty good, and so was the Brussels sprout.
Had a table for 2 at 5pm on a Saturday. Graciously greeted by the host and were able to sit anywhere we liked considering the entire place was empty. It opens at 5pm so I suppose that is normal. I believe it was our sommelier who asked us for a wine choice and when we opted for cocktails he hilariously made a point to let out a huge sigh lol sorry buddy. A minute later we were checked in on by our waitress who was lovely and took our drink and food orders. One minute later another employee checked in on us but we were taken care of so politely declined. One minute later another and different employee checks in on us? Politely decline. Wow the drinks came out fast, honestly, I mean there's nobody here so that is great service! 30 seconds in a third new employee stops by to check in on us. At some point our food comes out, we cycle through all 5 different employees at least twice and leave. Pretty strange place. I don't think they know how to deal with nobody there. Maybe nobody is there because the waitstaff can't coordinate who is responsible for which table. I don't recommend the Sassy Bee cocktail as it tasted exactly like Carmex lip balm. Bathroom was unique. The bar apparently rotates once every 66 minutes. The food was very good, but it's just not worth it.
This was an excellent choice for a pre-theater dinner. It was pleasant to sit outside, service was friendly, food was delicious, and a great server despite having too many tables. The cocktail list was appealing and great for bourbon lovers. I'll go back for sure!
Lackluster food, and lazy service, make this a place to eat at before a show, but not as a destination for dinner. We came during the week and there were four tables in the dining room, including us. We ordered our first round of appetizers; 1 French Onion soup: Don't get it, NO flavor and it was $10 a cup 2 Fried Calamari: I think there was maybe 4 calamari in there, the rest was filler 3 Steak tartar, this was the star of the apps and we would order again. The problem was each of them came out within 2 minutes of each other, and the server never coursed them out so everything was sitting in front of us which is annoying. Also after the first round our empty plates and drinks sat for 15 minutes before we could order anything else. For drinks the Frankie Fashioned is good, but that was a highlight. Our entree was the escargot and unfortunately this was another miss, not much flavor and extremely small. As mentioned above, we wanted to like this place, if you're coming before a show it's fine, but not as a destination to eat at for dinner.
I love the ambiance. The service was great. I came here for restaurant week and the menu was cute. All things I ate were delicious. I'd come back for sure. The drinks were amazing! Eeeek! Did you notice that you were moving the whole time? I get it now... the carousel... pay attention. Vegetarian options: Gnocchi
Good was amazing. Due to COVID-19 the carousel was not rotating. The food, drinks & wait staff were impeccable. I have no clue how more people do not know about this restaurant. It's a great first date spot. The bar has the beautiful carousel. There's also a backroom that has more dining space. Food and drinks are moderately priced. I ordered the Steak with a side of garlic spinach. My friend had the chicken. We were told the chicken takes 20 minutes to make, but it came out in less time than that and we both cleared our plates.
