Gayle V's Best Ever Grilled Cheese

Save your time and money. Best Ever Grilled Cheese only by name. Visiting from out of town and needed a "quick bite". It was not worth the long wait and typically I am willing to stand in really long lines for awesome food. We visited at about 3 pm. As visable in photos, our Southport, which was the classic with the onion marmalade, was so disappointing. We received two pieces of burnt bread with a small amount of filling. It's a nice atmosphere with live music but for the good of your wallet and stomach. I would skip this restaurant.

I just had a great grilled cheese!! The ladies in there were super nice and helpful. I think I got the Italian, which was suggested to get with blue cheese. The sandwich was perfect and hit the spot. The shrooms, onions, and ooey gooey cheese were a great combo for my pallet. I don't even like mushrooms. Thanks for making my lunch great. Thanks, Gayle. I went back last week. It most definitely was the River Valley, and I don't even like mushrooms. So good!!!!!

My wife raved about the classic. Simple grilled cheese and said they make it better than she could ever make it at home. I had the margarita and it was very good. It was our first time and it will probably not our last. Lots of choices. Recommend

Gayle V's really is the BEST EVER GRILLED CHEESE. Stop in there at block 37 in the lower level and you won't be disappointed. Not only do they have many great Grilled cheese sandwiches to choose from, but they also have classic craft beverages, and you can also buy Farmers Market eggs there, and many other great items for your own kitchen. So stop in Gayle V's Best Ever Grilled cheese today, and I garentee you'll be glad you did.

Visiting Chicago for the weekend and wanted something different to start our day. We are sooo glad that we found Gayle’s!… If you want an amazing grilled cheese, this is the place! We got there just after 10 and got a breakfast sandwich 1 and a breakfast sandwich 4. Both were amazingly good and the cheese was stringy and gooey. The number 4 had chorizo and cilantro so it was a bit more savory while the number 1 had some syrup and was a nice sweet finish to the meal! This was a perfect stop while walking around seeing the sights! Can’t wait to come back and try lunch!! Also a shoutout to the nice young lady working the register who was friendly and helpful!

This is not worth the money at all. I had the classic thinking it was going to be so good. Instead, it was a plain tasting grilled cheese that I can make at home. I have made way better grilled cheese at home. Nothing best about it. I wish I saved my calories and money. Very small sandwich too. Not many drink options. Not even any options for dip! I tried to ask for ketchup or ranch. They just wanted me to buy a bottle of beer ketchup or she said she had a packet of Heinz in her pocket. So gross. Go somewhere else.

Pleasantly surprised by the flavor and texture of the grilled cheese I got the original grilled cheese with pesto tomato soup. Portions were a bit on the small side, so I was a bit hungry afterwards. However, I’d recommend the OG combo of tomato soup and grilled cheese! Mmm!

The grilled cheese was very good but I also ordered Mac n cheese and I think they forgot about me because I had to call a worker to remind them after like 20 minutes of not getting it. They apologised and gave me a 10% off coupon though ‍Recommended dishesLittle Italy
