My friends brought me here for brunch this afternoon and I had a really good time! The interior is an interesting mix of Bohemian, Middle Eastern, and Gothic themes, which somehow works! The bar looks very welcoming and seems like a great place to have a few drinks, while waiting to get seated. I really love the vibe of this place. The service staff are super friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. The fish ceviche tasted fresh, and their burger is amazing. Reservations are required, because it's always booked out.
The river seating is really special. We had an excellent time at Beatnik. Exceeded expectations. I especially need to recommend the beet salad. I don't even love beets, but that salad was a stand out. Also the mushrooms if you like mushrooms. So much flavor... Cocktails were fantastic.
This restaurant was recommended by a friend and I'm glad it was. It's at a great location, right along the Chicago River. It's actually a hidden gem. from the outside it looks like a small bar, but walk inside and out the back and there's a massive indoor seating section, walk a little further and down a few steps and you enter a really cool section close to the water with lots of plant decorations. Food wise it has an extensive menu with something for everyone. I had the spicy chicken bao bun which was absolutely amazing and also opted for the sangria which was absolutely superb and came in a cool jug . Would recommend and would visit again
We went there for birthday celebrations. We made reservations for outdoor. They gave us a lovely spot with great view. The server had a little attitude but we had really good time. Special kudos to chefs as the food had great presentation and great taste. Only thing was we were vegetarian and we can order only side and they dont have any vegetarian entrees. Overall great experience.
Seared scallop is so matching with green curry. Steak kabob could be more juicy if it was not cooked well done. BRUSSELS SPROUTS, check it out, it's so good! Nice view and friendly service. Definitely will come back.
The portions are small tapas but it's a beautiful restaurant with a riverview. I went in the winter time, but I really want to visit again when the weather is nice. The food was really good. We "ooh"ed and "ah"ed tasting the dishes we ordered!the noodle dish though wasn't our favorite. Highly recommend if you're looking to book a place for a special day.
I had my wedding at the Beatnik this summer and it was the most magical day. The atmosphere is gorgeous, the venue coordinator, Cassie, was so great to work with, and everyone at the venue was so accommodating and kind throughout planning, and the day of. The food and drinks were amazing! Our boozy brunch wedding on the river was the best day ever!
The restaurant was really beautiful decorated with gorgeous deco. Great delicious food. Our starters were bigger portions than the main course but everything we ate was yummy. We ordered the smoked babaganoush and mezze platter, along with chicken and waffles. Everything was lovely. We sat by the riveralthough by the glass, it was still a lovely dining experience. Recommend 10/10!!
The view of the river is wonderful and ambiance is charming. The dishes are tapas / family style. We enjoyed everything from the oysters and papas huancaina to the cheeseburger and desserts. Actually, the cheeseburger was quite amazing - a must try! Also, loved dipping the fries in the goat cheese from the papas. YUM! Beautiful ‘bohemian’ interior overlooking the river. Drinks were refreshing. Flavorful Baba ghanoush with soft pita. Red snapper was fresh however, chicken kabobs were ‘unappetizing & bland’!! Pretty place & good service but quite overpriced for the ‘taste’.
