Fitwells - Maple Ridge

I’ve been going to this gym for 7 years now! It was the first gym I ever signed up at : and it has been and always will be the gym I always go to. I love the comfortable all women’s environment! They have a variety of classes, and the instructors are all so motivating and well educated. There is tanning and showers in the change-room. AND they have CHILDCARE which is HUGE for moms like me on the go! Lastly, they have new owners who have been working hard in bringing many good and exciting changes to the gym highly highly recommend ladies!

Been going to this gym for 9 months and the longer I stayed the more dissatisfied I became. The hours of operation aren’t great, and there are hidden fees that add up. Had my credit card compromised and they were so unhelpful with the procedure that I ended up wanting to cancel. Cancellation was such an ordeal and found both staff and manager extremely unhelpful. When my card was compromised, they called for payment 3 times in 2 weeks and when they knew I wanted to cancel, they let my balance grow and I ended up being charged for an extra FOUR months. Really dishonest customer service. I signed up with my friend and she was able to cancel much easier and with a waived 30 day notice so they don’t equally apply their policy. Don’t know if it was a race thing or they’re just like this but my white friend was treated very differently. Even the way I was talked to as if I was a child/ couldn’t understand English was extremely rude and condescending. I left the interactions feeling extremely upset and sad. Compared to other gyms in the area, for price and customer service, you’re better off going somewhere else. Been a part of a couple different gyms now and found Fitwells surprisingly unhelpful. Anytime fitness is cheaper and have better hours and Trevor Linden has better facilities and much better service!

The staff is friendly here. I find that you dont feel out of place at all, which is a nice change from a majority of the gyms. Child care is such a great bonus, as it is hard to find one my kids are comfortable with. I also really like how they support LOCAL businesses as opposed to the giant corps. Great gym. I was looking at other gyms, ended up choosing this one. It's really nice to have quieter, not crowded place to exercise. I'm not interested in classes, but the staff are friendly, and the equipment is great, especially when they moved some from the Coquitlam location to Maple Ridge.

The gym is a nice quiet place to work out most days. The staff is very unhelpful and unfriendly. I was locked in there tanning bed for over 20 minutes before it released. When I told them they did nothing to ensure it doesn’t happen to another person. I have experienced huge anxiety as a result. Keys were lost, they just sat in there room and scowled instead of helped locate. If you have any type of request of costumer service the answer is a flat out no. So on that respect, I cancelled my membership. I provide great costumer service and expect the same from the businesses I invest in.

NO!!! I know you're thinking it might be a good idea... It's not. This place is like flipping Hotel California!! You can check out but you can never leave. EVER!! Even when your membership is up they keep charging you. You can't cancel over the phone, you go in and they want a notarized letter from god and then they have to send it to some board of fitness money leeches or something for review. Go to the leisure center or outside or hit up 224th and get chased by some crack heads for crying out loud, it'll be cheaper and less painful, I promise, just DO NOT GO HERE. They have been sucking money out of my bank account for months... don't let them get you too, literally go ANY WHERE else. The absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. I would say I don't know how they keep their business running but then I realize there are probably more sad suckers out there just like me who signed over their souls and $30 a month until the end of time. I wish google would let me leave negative stars or none but apparently you have to give at least one and with that goes another small piece of my soul. Thanks for everything Fitwells and all of your incredibly helpful employees, hope you're doing something fun with my $30 a month because I'm certainly not.

Really overpriced for what the gym offers. Machines are usually broken, I get shocked getting on or off the treadmills, loose wires and dirty facility overall. Would not recommend joining this gym.

This is by far my most favourite gym! I love the atmosphere the staff are super helpful and it is so nice in the gym and not so busy to where I'm waiting for a machine!

Been going here since 2009 and this is by far my favorite gym. The staff is awesome and so friendly which is so nice after a hard day of work.

Staff are always so friendly and welcoming, the gym is never too busy, it’s always clean, the classes are great and overall its a great gym.
