Don't let the modest decor dissuade you; this place is all about the food. Quality ingredients across the board, with most everything on the menu made in-house. From the haddock to the onion rings, you can't go wrong. Next time, I'm having the haggis. Which gets its ingredients from a local Scottish butcher! Give this place a chance. Established 40 years ago, and I have no question how it's still here. In a word: Delicious!
We’ve been coming here for about a year or so, and it’s by far one of the BEST places to go to for REAL fish and chips. Very generous portions, quality fish and the staff are so kind. Always helpful, lots of phone orders so sometimes it’s rushed but they are busy. Hands down the best fish and chips place in Mississauga. For those belly aching about the cost and things going up- have you seen what seafood costs these days let alone everyday food. Give them a try, they are very nice and it’s a mom and pop type of place, so I will always support local. Oh- their clam chowder is out of this world, a hidden gem. Parking: Lots of parking
First visit on a Thursday mid afternoon and restaurant had steady stream of customers. The fish is cooked to order so a little bit of a wait which is totally understandable. I had haddock and chips which was a very good sized portion. The batter was light and the fish tender and moist. Nothing noteworthy on the fries. I will definitely be there again.
As an Englishman living in the area finding a decent Chippy was always a tough proposition until I found this gem. Quality food, fairly priced, definitely the best in the area and Ive tried most!. Good chips, great black pudding and lightly battered fish, everything a good chippy should be!
I was looking for a new fish and chips in the area to hopefully make my go to. At a first glance, the restaurant is small but cute with an 80's vibe to the decor. Nothing fancy or over the top, but rather homey feeling. Then you order and get to the food...most of it is sourced from quality locations, such as the haddock from Nova Scotia and the steak pies from a local bakery, the black pudding and Haggis from a Scottish butcher--and it definitely shows in the taste! The portions are *very* generous. I was stuffed to the brim after just the fish and a few chips! The chips are made in house, like just about everything else here. Fresh Ontario farm-grown potatoes, and if ordering poutine, the curds are ordered from Quebec! The meal was absolutely delicious, but the service was equally as excellent. The chef came out to ask if we were new and talked to us about how the restaurant has been around for 40 years--and it's very easy to see why!--as well as about the food and where it is sourced from and made. I can't rate higher than a 5/5 stars, or I would. 100% recommend coming here if you get the chance.
Contrary to what most people think, the Pollock actually tastes the best out of all the fish they serve. It melts in your mouth and has a perfect taste. It’s more filling than the Halibut. Please bring the Pollock back!!
I love this is the best fish and chips place . They offer a great selection the prices are not bad. The homemade tarter sauce is the best.
What happened? This was always the place to go when I lived down the street. Now I make a special drive to enjoy the best and what a let down. Halibut was a 2x4 in piece and half the chips. The oil film in my mouth was terrible. Fish used to hang over the plate and fries were a mountain. Waste of a drive.
I see all these comments praising this place.. Cleary these people don't go to many fish spots... Fresh fish with light batter. Awesome chowder. Fantastic home made tartar sauce. The fries were not soaking in oil. Good Friday night dinner. Be careful of the wait times as it gets busy. But good things come to those who wait.
