Bayview Garden Restaurant

While it looks like a small restaurant from the outside, there's actually quite a bit of space when you go in. All instances that I have dined here have been in the afternoon 1-3pm on a weekday and it was pretty quiet each time. The cost of their items is pretty good for the portions they serve and the food was pretty good too. If you order a lunch special they also provide a hot drink like HK style milk tea, a cold one cost a bit extra. Service was dependent on how busy the place gets and there seems to only be 2 waitress each time I went. As it was quiet when I went, the food came out quite quickly.

Well established Chinese restaurant in the neighbourhood that is popular with locals for its well cooked food, friendly service and generous portions. Definitely go for one of the set meals if you don’t know what to order. The Peking Duck and Lobster in Maggi Sauce are both great.

Avoid this restaurant on Chinese holidays at any cost, especially on Chinese New Year's eve. I ordered for pickup 2 days before the New Year's eve. Called to confirmed on that day at noon, and got reply that everything would be by schedule. It turned out I had to wait in the crowd for almost 2 hours to get my order ready, and there were at least other 5 customers facing the same situation. The dine-in customers were not better off at all - I saw them sitting there for 1 and 1/2 hours without any dish on the table. The food were tasted though. That's why I gave it 2 stars.

I had a terrible experience at this Chinese restaurant during Chinese New Year. Despite knowing it would be busy, they were severely understaffed which resulted in one of the worse dining experiences. To make matters worse, only 2 out of the 8 dishes we ordered actually arrived after 2 hrs of wait. The worst part was the attitude of the boss, who seemed more focused on takeout orders rather than taking care of the paying customers in the restaurant. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

I recently had a very poor experience at a restaurant due to the terrible service. The staff were incredibly slow in taking our order and bringing our food, and when it did arrive after 60+min wait it was not up to par. It was either cold, overcooked and worse, one wasn’t even a complete order! The waitstaff were also unhelpful and seemed uninterested in providing good service. To make matters worse, the restaurant was dirty and unkempt. I couldn’t even find someone to help exchange my dirty spoon! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone due to the poor service and overall experience.

Came here multiple times for lunch and dinner. I wouldn't come here for lunch, their menu seems to be more economical but it doesn't seem like it's what their chefs are good at cooking. Dinner is good. It's my go-to for Chinese seafood dinner.

Its a busy restaurant with good food. There is a line everytime i come but somehow they manage to sit people in a short time so thats good. Their free run chicken is the best in the city, and i love the free soup at the beginning of the meal. All dishes we tried is been good so far, it just the portion might be on and off from time to time. I never tried their seafood so no comment on those. But for sure one of the go to chinese restaurant.

Big portion, not extraordinary taste. However, it is a bit pricy. We waited for an hour for our food. I was almost fumed off and start asking for my food. They were late on their food delivering speed. The taste is not extraordinary. It is ok/ good. Provide the long wait for food and price tag, I would rather choose some other restaurant. The picture is how much food had left for 4 adult, 1 child of 7 years old. Update 2019-02-23 Been here again for lunch the other day. The lunch have more choice : for 1 or for 2. Chinese new year eve, we called this resturant around 4pm to order 4 dishes and got confirmation we can pick up at 5.30. When we walked in to pick up, was told they.have too many.orders so we have to wait 30 more mins. That is fine, we paid first and informed friends who are waiting for us for dinner. We saw so.many people waiting already, and there was a customer who is dine in said he has waited 1 hour. After 30mins, we were told 30more again..In total we waited 2 hours to get our order, and it is new year eve. Not just us, so many ppl were waiting there more than 2 hr. The worst thing is, the manager still accepted order and walk in although he has already noticed over2 hr waiting time. When we open the dishes, the fish is raw, not fully cooked. the chicken is still bleeding, and no sauce. The bean has glass mixed in the box.
