Incredible outdoor patio setting with friendly service and large portions of great fish and chips. Iconic and a must stop if you are in Qualicum Beach.

Feels like I got ripped off for average food. Disappointed and would not recommend going here. I looked at the menu online and called to order. The woman on the phone said the menu was different than online which I understand because of the times, no problem. I asked for 1 piece of fish and chips. They asked if I want with coleslaw and tartar sauce and I say yes, a little confused because I online it says it's all together. They tell me it will be ready in 7 minutes, which is awesome! I go there and see that they have specials on, I would have ordered the special if I knew because it says 2 pieces for $15. I know I ordered the halibut instead which will cost more, online it says $18.50 for 1 PC which is a lot to me but I'm willing to support them as a local business that uses fresh fish and potatoes. The sign at the table to pay says my meal will be $17 instead 2 PC's $24 sweet that it's less than expected, I'll add that discount to the tip is what I was thinking. When it is my turn to pay, I'm told that my total is $26.. I say 'oh.. I only got the 1 pc right?' She says 'yup and coleslaw and tartar sauce'. I say 'oh I guess that costs extra?' 'yup' and I pay with a tip. I walk away a little confused about how the price jumped from $17 to $26 and I'm feeling like a fool for paying that price for 1 pc fish and chips but I'm taking it for what it is, thinking oh I'll treat myself to a nice meal. But no, I have a good piece of fish with soggy fries, basic coleslaw and a half cup of tartar sauce. I could have had the 2 piece fish and chips for the price I paid for this coleslaw and tartar sauce instead. I also could have had a nice sit down meal for myself for $30.. I have worked as a cook and been in the hospitality industry for over 8 years & the cost of this food vs what I paid is very disappointing. I hate to leave a bad review as I know times are tough and I really want to support small shops, but I do not think that people should be ripped off like this. Hopefully I'll laugh one day about the fact that I actually paid $9 for coleslaw and sauce

Friendly hosts, fast service and of course delicious food. Halibut was flaky and fresh, chips were perfectly crispy. Highly recommend to anyone passing by!

Friendly service in a nice setting. The fish and chips I ordered were very well prepared, served hot and fresh. A most enjoyable lunch. Edit: Been here twice now, each time the same experience. Will come again.

Nice homey setting with outdoor garden seating and Chuck the Muskovy duck as a mascot. The food is delicious and the service is friendly. Bottomless fish and chips never tasted so good.

Delicious and relaxing experience. Owner came outside to talk to us and it was really fun. Sad to hear this place is closing but it seems the owner is ready to retire. Gorgeous outdoor atmosphere and huge, varied menu. Service was excellent!

3 piece cod fish & chips, fresh, tasty, large portions.Great prices. Definitely recommended it!!!! Coleslaw with dill was simple but delicious.

We saw the sign on our drive yesterday and decided to stop for fish and chips. What a nice experience, so friendly and THE BEST fish and chips we've had in a long time. The halibut was over an inch thick and the cod was not as thick but big portions. Plenty of chips and the tartar sauce is excellent. Can't wait to go back on our next trip up island. Might try the "homemade" burgers next time!

All you can eat rock cod....so good. Batter is very light. Fish is really fresh.

We've been there several times and thoroughly enjoyed the meal each time. Very surprised at the value for money - large servings and not at all expensive. And the very best sticky toffee pudding ever!! Will certainly miss this place when they sell.
