I like this place! Portions are generous, baked items are made in-house, sandwich bread and bagels are amazing and service is premium and if you see a long line up you can count on it moving quickly. The espresso is tasty too. I also appreciate that Bailey's is often the only coffee shop open at certain times or on certain dates/holidays -- thank you to the staff for being available for us residents. I knocked off two stars because I was surprised to see the cheese is processed on all the breakfast sandwiches and burgers Kraft singles style and the burger patty was also come kind of pre-made highly processed, gelatinous frozen patty like a Costco or even lower grade. I would be willing to pay more for ingredients that are restaurant quality but I'm guessing the residents prefer the lower prices. Nonetheless, I'm a regular patron and can see why Bailey's is popular. Vegetarian options: big menu for all dietary needs, for all times of the day. Kid-friendliness: totally kid-friendly in the food abd atmosphere. Dietary restrictions: gluten-free baked goods and toast for breakfasts
Such an amazing place to find to eat! The food was very varied and home cooked, with baking and all was so delicious. The very busy staff was friendly too! We will definitely returning when able.
This place gets all the stars for the staff and the place. Perfect to-go or patio dine in restaurant. Lovely place to start from a coffee, cookies to the soup & sandwiches. We asked for a plate so we don't create garbage and were told that the owner allows only waste containers for eat-in. Climate change and wastefulness go hand in hand and we're all responsible, especially owners who are the decision makers. Despite bringing our own utensils and requesting no waste with our food, they put thick plastic spoons and forks on our food and it was too late to remove them. In one of the most beautiful places in the world, why can't we wash our dishes and be sustainable?
Nice breakfast place. I had the French toast... excellent! House coffee is OK, not coffee house level. Staff was very friendly and the price was reasonable.Food: 4/5
The best coffee - ever! Wonderful friendly staff - always decked out for the season, fun videos. We've been steady clients for a decade. Bailey's was there all through the pandemic, adapting to changing conditions while most of town relied on their patio and takeout- keeping us all hopeful and sane. Great sandwiches and snacks.... one of the most charming things about Qualicum Beach is lunch at Bailey's.
Ordered a sub and got a cold sandwich instead. This was already frustrating, but to make the food even more underwhelming, was the fact that there was barely any sauce, and it was served cold. When I asked for a refund, they refused. They offered a new order of food even though I had already explained we had left town after purchasing our to go “subs”. Don’t trust their pictures! Or this is what you get
A good spot to grab coffee or other hot drinks. I had a chai latte today and it was delicious. The baked goods are really good especially some of the jumbo muffins and the pies. Lots of variety that changes frequently. The guy with the awesome moustache is great. I believe he is one of the owners. The hot food is pretty standard. Prices are average. Vegetarian options: They have options. Kid-friendliness: Unfortunately they are allowed. Parking: Not much parking. It’s Qualicum Wheelchair accessibility: You can get a chair in there. Dietary restrictions: They have options.
The staff and food are excellent. Our only disappointment is that they have not returned to regular dishes since COVID. We do not enjoy eating on paper containers and it ruins the dining experience. Also, in this age of environmental concerns, it bothers us to see so much waste being generated. Hopefully they return to regular dishes as this is otherwise a great restaurant.
Food was good and ambience is nice, being beside a park. But I have to say I'm so disappointed in the plastic waste. You're a town right beside the ocean, you can do better. I saw shops down the street with to stay mugs and compostable materials. The staff told me they didn't have enough staff to wash dishes, and they didn't have a dishwasher, yet they stood there doing nothing when it was slow. You can wash dishes! Plus the cost of getting a dishwasher would cost less over time than purchasing paper plates and plastic cutlery. SO much plastic waste. Sorry but low staffing is not an excuse..when you are a business in Qualicum Beach you have a responsibility..do better. Covid and low staff are not good enough excuses. I will be supporting other local businesses that care about the environment..
