Our story is as unique as our food. We are proud to be recognized for our creative, locally sourced cuisine but, did you know that when you dine with us, you are directly supporting our community? Since our founding in 2007 by the Melville Charitable Trust, our commitment has always been to serve extraordinary food and to bring jobs, investment, and opportunity to Hartford’s Frog Hollow neighborhood. I came here with my boyfriend after work for a happy hour and early dinner. We sat in the bar area and ordered some of the special happy hour drinks. The happy hour appetizers were well priced, however I will say I felt the entrees were a little more on the pricey side. However the food was extremely delicious. It's also nice that they have a parking lot right outside.

Firebox never anything but amazing. Every experience I’ve had dining there has been incredible—both in terms of food and service. Last night’s dinner was the best I have ever had. In a packed restaurant with many of us dining before a Bushnell show, we had to wait a bit to be served. Management and our waitress responded impeccably, showing that this restaurant is one of a kind even with a full house. The chef is one Firebox should never let go of. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, and were able to be ordered minus the walnuts due to a nut allergy. The main course was cooked perfectly, and the dessert was hands down the best I have ever had. Top it off with a great bottle of wine and this last visit goes down as my favorite of any dining experience I have ever had. Thank you Firebox!

I cannot rave about this restaurant enough. Incredible food, wonderful and efficient wait staff, and awesome ambiance. While the prices are a bit on the high side, I have no problem paying them because I know how the ingredients are sourced. Nothing better than farm-to-table cooking. Highly recommend. Also, totally underrated brunch! The mimosas are delicious and the brunch plates are reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Delicious seasonal and local food, cocktails and beer. The staff is knowledgeable and can provide an in-depth description of the flavor palette of any of the listed menu items. Have a large group? If you call or book online in advance, the staff can make accommodations for your party. I also suggest going in a large group, that way you can order appetizers and desert and still have room for your entree. The prices reflect the quality and quantity of food, be prepared to take home leftovers.

Excellent atmosphere and comfortable dining. They execute their menu well though it would be nice to see it change a bit more frequently. Given the trend of increasing your price to give the perception of better quality, this place is good quality for a slightly inflated price. I would eat here 50 times before eating at Capitol Grille. The Firebox Salad is excellent and all you need to walk away satiated. Kielbasa sandwich and brussel sprouts are not to be missed.
