An old School dinner is certainly a unique environment to eat Thai food in but that's not the only reason to eat at this place. The food is also very good. I believe a lot of their produce is locally grown and if you eat here you will probably be very healthy and add years to your life.

Service is attentive and pleasant. The food is fresh and delicious. I love coconut chicken soup and often order it in Thai restaurants. This one is the most delicious I have tasted. Someone rated it down because of location. The location is just fine and East West Grille is so accessible. Parking is ample.

I know there's a lot of competition for Thai in the 860 but East West is a staple. Great place for a casual but intimate date because of it's super coziness, traditional-but-fusion decor, and quiet crowds. Built into a classic and chromed out diner, the re-purposed cases and systems are a fascinating exercise in ingenuity. I have tried a lot of things here, but I always return to the curry. I love the green curry, and I make it a point to try it everywhere. This is in my top five Connecticut Curries (CCs). Simple, clean, and served with a jasmine and brown rice yin yanged together in a delightful little wicker basket. I usually get the chicken version, and only once was I disappointed with chewy, gamey and sorta frozen tasting chicken. Every other time has been super great. Appetizers, I go thai calamari and tom yum soup. They have a couple calamari preparations on the menu, but I really like the thai because in addition to the familiar fried crispy part, they coat the entire thing in a sweet chili sauce and toss it with pineapple. Absolutely amazing combination of savory and sweet, soft with great crisp textures as well. Last thing I want to mention is the service. It is a family run operation with a lot of the employees having close ties to the joint. Never been let down or felt ignored here. Even new less experienced staff seem to really care about your experience and helping you out. Pro tip, look for a beautiful bald man with facial hair. He is the sweetest food angel and will treat you like a god.

Not experienced enough in this type of cuisine to rate the food but I enjoyed everything I ate and the service was good. The decor is corny good. They took a traditional diner and gave it an Asian makeover which works in a weird way. Fun.
