I like them for the daily specials and when I need some consistent BBQ. Though I do try other things I usually am a fan of the Rib Tips ask for the old school and get salad corn and fries to enjoy. Service is usually great though in the years going you always get that one or two. Overall been a family dinner for 5 or more of us for a really long time since they opened. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is ok and generally nice about the drinks. Parking: Lots of parking but usually lots of people during busy times.
this place is really amazing honestly. We got so much food and all of it was to die for! The food is so so good and service is amazing. We had Jamie as our waitress tonight and she went above and beyond. Just treated us as every waitress should and I will definitely be coming back because of her. Thank you Jamie! Highly recommend checking this place out!
I'm not sure where some of these bad reviews are coming from. The brisket sandwich is delicious. I always get the baked beans, greens and corn bread muffin. All of it is so good and have a great flavor. I love this place.
Placed an order online 10/28/22. I paid an extra $4 for the center cut ribs. I checked my food before I left and could instantly tell i had ribs that were towards the end of the slab. Ribs were super dry. When you pay decent money, you expect some kind of quality. Take a look at the photos I have. I usually let them slide because of worker shortage but this a $30 meal.
Totally disgusted with my Thursday special. I bought 3 meals. I called it in. I drove from my job at Henry Ford Hospital, W. Grand Blvd because the one nearest my home is closed. Many issues before I could pay for/leave with my food which I called attention to, in There favor not mine I bought 3 separate meals. For my coworker, Mom & Me. When I say dry to burnt was the variety, not kidding. I picked up the meals ahead of the May 19th 2022, Opera, Malcolm X. The first Malcolm X Day in Detroit announced by Mayor Duggan prior to the Opera. Once we came home to enjoy our meal..... Soo very upsetting... I'm upset about the meat, I can't even Speak on the very small and short changed sides.
This is my favorite BBQ restaurant it has a rusic look to the restaurant all kinds of neat decor around , my favorite Meal to order is the slab of ribs which comes with a few sides like the cornbread muffin or baked beans along with their BBQ sauce they are known for, Hands down the best BBQ restaurant in my opinion
11/03/2022 I have never had a bad experience at this location and for the cook to send out a burnt not well done but burnt rib tips is just unacceptable. I don't know if the cook is mad at Famous Daves or the world. But you should be fired for purposely serving this horrible looking food to a faithful FD customer. I'm going to collect my coupon from Famous Pat to replace my meal but after that I'll never be back to that location. I'm really disappointed
Takeout takes FOREVER. The team is nice. Placing the order is effortless. Be prepared to wait at least 40 minutes for your order during busy weekends. Double check it before you leave. I saw several people coming back asking for their missing items. Update...Famous Dave's for the response. Oh I'll definitely continue coming back for my favorite All American meal. The food is ALWAYS good!
One of my favorite menu items is the appetizer, salmon spread & pita toast points. I ordered & I was sooo disappointed with the burnt toast points that I was served. My waitress was so uncaring and lacked hospitality skills I decided she could care less. I ordered 2 meat lunch . I asked for dark meat chicken and got white meat. When I brought it to her attention she looked at me and asked if I wanted dark meat…duh???? Parking: Ample parking
Ribs were tough as usual. I don't even know why I keep giving them a chance, but a family member was having their birthday there. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO COOK RIBS... PERIOD!! Prices are ridiculous for their 2 meat combo. Measley 4 bones and a quarter chicken with 2 small sides for $24.. Look at that pic and tell me that's 24 dollars worth of food, besides the meat being tough... No thank you. And yes I sent it back and decided to try the overpriced burnt butt's... They were more tender, but for the handful you get again not even close to being worth $17 for that either. I'll keep going to the neighborhood spots where you actually get good food and quantity for your money.
