Had to share my son’s experience! It was absolutely amazing! Drove an hour just to try it! The food was great! Came out hot and fresh! Saturday night and short staffed like the rest of the world and still good? Yes! Steak was tender and walleye was crisp! Definitely worth checking out!

We haven't been here in a long time! Happy to be back! Service was excellent. Nancy was really busy but checked in with us often. She paced the meal well. The food was excellent! Steak was really tender and done to perfection! The sauce with the steak was delicious! Didn't feel rushed.

I had my heart set on the amazing carrot cake for my birthday. We drove 20 mins to get this slice of goodness. Come to find out they were closed early. I ask if I could get two slices to go and they could 100% say no. Instead they said yes and I was able to have delicious carrot cake for my birthday. The service is amazing and I would 100% recommend you go. Plus, the food is incredible. I recommend the bull bites.

Fancy upscale restaurant with cloth napkins and table cloths very dark inside, dark wood furniture thankfully white floors. Will not be a good atmosphere the aged especially people with parkinson's or the beginning stages of dementia or poor eyesight. They serve mammoth popovers with maple butter. Very attentive staff delicious food. We had the walleye, generous portions, busy place attached to a Doubletree Hotel.

Love the patio outside, really spacious! Food has great portion and service was great too.

Excellent birthday party at Axel's. Superb food. Fantastic service. Great drinks! Crab cakes delicious! Coconut Shrimp to die for! Quality Filet of Beef!

Saw a lot of reviews about poor service, decided to take a gamble on it anyways, and was super disappointed. Server got triple sat, which doesn’t really inspire a sense of great management. One of our drinks was not served until like 20 min after the others. Food took 40 min to arrive, and parts of it came out cold. Some orders were wrong. I had the Walleye and was very underwhelmed, especially for the price. Server did hook it up with free dessert, and I will say the carrot cake was phenomenal. However, it would have gone a long ways had she just checked in with us once to ask how the food was. Will not be visiting again.

Manager and server were great! Some other staff didn't seem to care about customer service. Food was delicious but a little pricey for some of the portions. I suggest ordering an appetizer.

Went with a group of coworkers. Portion sizes were good. Steak orders were undercooked and pork was raw in the middle. Service was slow due to lack of staff and several orders were mixed up. Grilled chicken breast sandwich was just meat in a bun no sauces or toppings. Too many tables crammed in a small space but the quality of the tables, chairs, and benches were good. Staff was considerate and friendly. Prices were typical of a mid-rate restaurant. Descent dining experience but certainly not up scale.

My family was traveling during thanksgiving and we stopped here for the thanksgiving day buffet. The place was packed, the holiday craze was in full swing felt like the big family thanksgiving meals I went to as a kid with that said I was so impressed by the quality of the food and how the staff managed to run a mostly smooth ship! If I could go back and buy the recipes for the sage cornbread stuffing, yams, and green beans I would.
